I love a whittler and admired this, but the first thing that drew my eye from the "above" position (looking down at the blades in the well). Was how perfectly executed the jigging is on your knife. Normally we all look for bladecentering, etc. I went straight to how the scales were crafted and fitted, because-well, those peachseed jigged covered just can't seem to be duplicated, not matter how hard the attempt is made.........beautiful knife you have there.

Thanks Rockon75

There are some amazing and terribly expensive knives in this thread. Here are some inexpensive and very well made options. As far as I know, Rough Rider has produced splitbacks in seven different patterns. The photos show one from each of six different patterns I currently own. The seventh pattern, a 3” easy open, I do not have an example of. In the top photo, from right to left they are:

Big Whittler in red jigged bone (only produced in red jigged bone covers)
Boxcar Whittler in amber jigged bone (was made in three different covers)
Classic Carbon Seahorse in yellow composition (produced in two different covers so far)
Large Dogleg in amber jigged bone (made in three covers I know of)
Swell Center in smooth bluegreen bone (made in at least 13 different covers!)
Small Swayback in black pearl (only done in two covers I know of)

The Dogleg splitback is one of my favorite patterns, here are the ones I own. Left to right are GEC 38 in Bloodwood, two RR's in Sambar, a Northwoods in smooth red bone, and two in burnt orange jigged bone, a RR and a GEC 38. I believe the RR's and the Northwoods are circa 2005. The stag on the RR's is beautiful and they are getting really hard to find anymore.
