Day 15:

I have a Camillus Barlow and Buck 305 in my pockets, but I haven't been able to figure out image hosting yet. It probably isn't complicated, but the morning's been busy and I haven't bothered to try yet. At first when I got the message about image size or quantity, I was sure that it was user error. That's usually the situation. It was a bit of a relief to discover here that it's a systemic issue.

Edit: photo added.

Day 15

Beware the Ides of Barlow-thon! While Caesar's least favorite day in March doesn't come for another ten days, here in Barlowtopia, we're celebrating day 15 with a special Barlow Bearcat #15 TC Barlow!

Don't worry, GEC hasn't made any #16 Little Indian Girl Canoe Barlows (how would that even work?), so no more matching pattern to day count... FOR NOW!

Obviously, this one hasn't seen much use (but muh BB etch...) or even carry (kinda waiting for the custom slip to arrive for that...) yet, but it definitely has been in my hand while bumbling around the house today like an out-of-sorts opossum at 2 am!

I'm a little bit tired today, after having been woken up much earlier than usual to a calamitous racket which turned out to be a construction crew building a new "speed table" (have you heard this term? It's like a really long speed bump) right in front of my house. In addition to reducing the speed limit to 25 mph (that's, uh, something in kph for the non-Americans...), it's part of a new city initiative to get people to stop driving through the neighborhood as though they're participants in some surreal public version of the Daytona 500. 🏁

It's bittersweet because while I don't enjoy getting woken up early to the sound of construction equipment and loud hollering, I do love the sound of the transmissions of people who speed down my street getting forcibly ripped out of their vehicle's underbelly (my kitty has almost been hit a few times 🤬) and deposited by the side of the road. The former is just one day, the latter will bring sweet music to my ears for years to come. Ka-CHUNK!!! 😂 Take that, you sad Mini-Cooper-driving, Dale Earnhardt wannabe! How fast is it with no transmission??!! MWAAAHAAAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Nice Barlows, I'm really enjoying this thread! 😁
Me too.

I understand that asking a direct question of the audience can result in increased engagement, as in: "What makes a good barlow?", but in those kinds of threads, I frequently feel like I'm being asked a question I may not have the answer to. Who am I to say what a good barlow makes? Here, I know what y'all want, y'all want BARLOWS! Barlows for thirty days! 😂

Single blade Barlows are slimmer, lighter, more pocket friendly, etc; but as a boy, the only Barlows I remember had two blades. So, being the stubborn old dinosaur that I am, I prefer the two bladed Barlows.

As a youngster the ones I saw were always pen in front of the main. I don't recall seeing single blades until I got older, but, they had to be around ..... just not around here.
As a result, when I see the two blade Barlows, it somehow just seems right ! 😊

P.S. - I still love my singles though. ;) 😊

My Old Barlow today.

After what someone said on the Porch sometime ago I feel I am more like the guardian than the owner.

I take it out for photos to please those who like it.

I love it every time I see it !😍
If I owned it, I would carry it some ........ where's the joy in it if you don't ? 🤔🤔
Maybe not if you're riding your bike or going down to the marsh pond ...... I would just be a little extra cautious about when and where I did carry it. ;) 😊

Day 11

Having shown the "sharing the coffee" pic and the "envelope opening" pic, it's now time for the obligatory and traditional midnight snack slicing pic. Once again, hold onto your hats, ladies and gentlemen. 👒🎩
