I love it every time I see it !😍
If I owned it, I would carry it some ........ where's the joy in it if you don't ? 🤔🤔
Maybe not if you're riding your bike or going down to the marsh pond ...... I would just be a little extra cautious about when and where I did carry it. ;) 😊

I do get a bit nervous taking photos near water with it.

Carry them and use them it’s the only way.

Our Guide & Mentor for this journey to Barlowdom, Mr.P named it spring into spring. Well this Mini Barlow from RR fits the bill as it has a 3d (Threepence) coin from The Irish Free State on it (1923-37) showing the Hibernian Hare. We have urban Hares here and some are the size of a good sized dog o_O

Hares are also referred to as Mad March Hares as the males get up to boxing contests Thriller in Manilla

Day 16 (on the back side of the challenge) ..... my two old Russells get the nod. Already on the side board table, I reckon one for half the day and the other for half the day. 😊

I think I'll drop that old Pruner in my pocket too ..... just for good measure.

Very nice!

All y'all Barlow warriors out there have me looking at this pattern and there are some great ones out there. I've decided, since I'm a big Russell fan to begin with, that if I was to pony up on a good Barlow it will be a nice Russell.... So its time to enjoy the hunt for a while.

Day 10 and I still have the Boker in my watch pocket. No change and no interesting pictures today.

Two weeks in: Day 14

My Buck 332 is still in my pocket again today, but yesterday euroken euroken was talking about the stamped hollow bolsters on Imperial Barlows. I have two from Providence, RI that are identical in every way except that one of them has three patent numbers on the tang of the smaller blade, and the other does not. I have no idea what years they started/stopped stamping the patent numbers.

The patents, 2284833, 2479855, and 2689400 range from 1942 to 1954. All three are for the stamped bolsters (and scales on other Imperial models) and for the manufacturing process. Here are a couple diagrams from the 1942 patent.

Day 16:
As long as I can remember, my Grandpa (who I greatly looked up to) sat in his recliner next to the fireplace. And, next to his recliner in front of the fireplace was a brass firewood holder. I never saw them run the fireplace, but the firewood holder always had 3 logs of White Birch resting in it. Once Grandpa passed away and Grandma moved out of the house, I asked for the firewood holder and the logs resting in it. I wanted to put it in front of the fireplace at our house.

Here is a picture of my barlow resting on one of those White Birch logs.
