Sprint profit

Just my opinion.

Mr. Brownshoe has been a member and supporter of our forum for close to 10 years.

I would suggest that most of his posts have been “not positive” about Spyderco, though I have seen him compliment us on a number of occasions.

We have bantered a few times. Banters that have gone on for weeks. Mr. Brownshoe is bright, articulate and knowledgeable. Certainly my equal and probably a lot smarter.

On the extortion issue, there really wasn’t any extortion. On one of our last banters, I was trying to see if I could appease his negative Spyderco fire in some way. I was not being successful. The subject of a knife came up so I made the offer. That was my “check” move. His acceptance of the offer was the “Mate” move.

I knew that in order for me to send him a knife, I would have to know his address. Then his anonymity would be gone. I believe he realize this and backed off on the “deal” for me to send a knife, but he's kept his part of the bargain. His compliment to me was his way of saying “good game”.

It surprised me that others emailed me to get his address. Of course I would have sent him the knife. And of course I would not have shared his address without his permission. I do have my own standards and a man is only as good as his honor.

If he lived in Golden, we would probably enjoy arguing over a beer.

I value and respect Mr. Brownshoe’s opinions, though I often do not agree with him. His point of view is important.

While there are Spyderco fans that visit (me included), it is a forum. I would prefer that “my” forums be transparent, civil and honest. I can speak on any level from “this is how you open the knife with one hand” to “Evolution IS intelligent design”.

Here, we talk knives, sharp pointy things that for some strange reason some of us are attracted to. (Which could be another heavy discussion). And also for some strange reason, some of us are attracted to Spyderco knives, including Mr. Brownshoe.

As we've all said before, Sal, you are a class act. I'm always proud to have a Spyderco product in my pocket.

Brownshoe, we respect your opinions, whatever they may be. ;) A forum without any opposition or criticism is not what we want.

al this being said, how bout another sprint run of the manix1!:D:D

sal, you are a class act. your products are great.

cheers! kimo

Sal, You obviously have more respect for him than I do. That's certainly not saying a whole lot though. :) Intelligent? Yes, Perhaps, but certainly about as dedicated to being negative here as we see. Kind of your polar opposite, in fact. Joe

Thanks for the positive remarks Mr. Glesser. I am a fairly long time spyderco fan...from the days of functional but ugly tools. My introduction to spyderco was from cold steel. What company is this Spyderco who owns the patents on Cold Steel knives?...I searched and found. I love and still do the integral clip. It makes a better handle than anything else on a FRN knife...too bad they are gone.

This to me is a very interesting statement:

"On the extortion issue, there really wasn’t any extortion. On one of our last banters, I was trying to see if I could appease his negative Spyderco fire in some way. I was not being successful. Thanks for clearing up the "extortion". I appreciate it. My reasons for bowing out of that exchange were expressed in that thread and did not hinge upon anonymity. If I could not receive packages and protect my identity, I'd not be much of a 21st century man. I also believe Mr. Glesser that you have integrity and if you had sent me a knife to my home address, you'd keep personal information private. IMHO, the "checks" but not mates are some other things done on your behalf, but maybe (i hope) not with your knowledge :) Thanks for the offer of a beer, I get your way about once every 10 years, so it won't be soon.

The fact that others wanted my address does not speak well of some forumites. To want revenge because someone has a different point of view and facts to support it maybe human, but it is just not American. Different points of view and spirited discussion is what makes this country and forum the best.

Thanks for the kind words JoshK.

Hey, on another forum we post the map street address of trolls. More lately Google earth pictures of their houses. This, This here is a bunch of nice people. :) Not at all like some other forums. Joe
