Got tired of waiting for the paysan, I'm glad they're doin the new reveal/release system because this waiting years for a knife to drop is ridiculous. I mean don't announce it if it's gonna take you 18 months to get it going?! Anyway, bought a socom elite in stead. Don't mean to hop on and start whining but for real, getting kinda dumb. Kept hearing this month, this month, naw, now this month for sure..what you wanna bet April, no wait, may now. Ill still maybe buy one when they actually come out but that could be 2020 at this rate. Stupid. Glad I don't have 500 bucks tied up in a pre-order at K.C. or something, I'd be apoplectic at this point.

I feel your pain. I too am frustrated about the Paysan. Thankfully I only have $5 tied up in a preorder but I have passed a ton of really good deals on the exchange because I am worried the Paysan would drop the next day and I will have spent my stash. I am sick over some of the deals I have walked away from.

Never pre order. You never get first dibs and often wait way longer.

Where have you kept hearing about a release date for the Paysan? I follow Spyderco pretty close on the forums and social media and I don't think I've ever heard Spyderco announce that it'll be out this month, that month, or any specific dates.

I've heard that from my dealer, and there was this image posted (Post #124) a few pages back where Mr. Rassenti himself said the same thing.

I would say those are pretty good sources!

What's going on with the brown M390 Manix models? They were on BHQ's coming soon page but are now gone, haven't heard anything in a couple of months, I think they were a distributor exclusive?
 
Those supergold delicas and enduras from massdrop are estimated to start shipping March 27th!

This SG2 steel has some prior dicussion I see, looks like a nice steel to experiment with and test compared to the hap40 run.

As much as I hate DLC, The YO2 rocks it nicely. (looks away, I have the satin one)

Still waiting on a Smock that I've had preordered for ever. I love Spyderco's but this roll out process really sucks and has completely turned me off. Preorder, wait forever, spyderco finally delivers a few which seem to end up in the hands of people that didn't preorder and now I'm stuck waiting for months longer. Nice system.

I heard from a dealer that the distributor didn't want dealers advertising those yet because there is no current ETA. But that they are coming!

I agree the system sucks.

I had a Smock on hold w/a $5 deposit at BHQ but cancelled the hold after the earliest deliveries to dealers were made but still didn't receive one AND then saw that it was available directly from Spyderco, which was a better deal for me anyway because I'm in Spyderco's OpFocus program. Thought the $5 was non-refundable but I actually got my $5 back.

So, it all worked out in the end BUT I will NEVER pre-order a knife again from anybody.

Never pre order. This has been well known issues of pre ordering in almost every market.
