Spyderco Balance

spyderco has been getting carried away with the price of their knives with carbon fiber handle scales and that makes no sense to me, as companies like CRKT are offering cf handled knifes for the $60 - $80 range !!! same with s30v blades if buck can make a vantage pro why does a taiwan made spyderco with s30v cost over $100 ? i love spyderco knives but i think their overseas knives are starting to cost a little too much...

CRKT isn't know for their F&F.

Just because it's made out of S30V doesn't mean it's a good knife. IIRC there were several people complaining royally about the Vantage.

i agree your not just getting materials.
your getting the F&F, the customer support, and the overall quality of the item taking into account everything.

NO... the balance is 100 dollars right?? you can get a delica or endura for less right??? both made in japan right??? you are paying for the cf which is a rip off!!! and i think most peopple here agree ...

I'm not sure what you're paying for with this particular knife. Could and probably is the fact that it's a limited run in an exotic material. Paying for that is only a ripoff if you think so. I'm sure collectors don't feel it is.

and fyi saying an american made buck knife has poor f&f is in poor taste

Why, because it does?

The complaints from "several" people were specifically about the Vantage Select. Not the Vantage Pro (s30v).

I will get this knife once they make the production version. If I heard it correctly on the video, the Carbon fiber version is a sprint run of only 500 to 600 pieces.

I've got to chime in as one of the guys who loves this design and will aquire one at all cost!

Bring on the balance!!!

No one said anything about an "american made buck knife" having poor f&f. You did. Is it the implication of your post that criticizing an american made product for inferiority to a non-american made product some sort of faux-pas?

Just curious because this the second post in two separate threads where you rail on about price disparity between a spyderco model and a Buck Vantage Pro although the materials are equal or better.

It is weird but kinda cool. I like the way it looks in closed position. It costs as much as the Paramilitary 2 though. I'd rather wait and maybe get one, when they release them in stainless framelock.

Awesome design, highly disappointing price. Would of liked to have one, but not at this price...
