Not knocking anybody who likes them. It's a personal thing, I just don't see the appeal personally. It might also be in part that the only LW Knife I have (H1 Spyderhawk) is pretty slim, and with my hands I prefer knives that are wider, so I imagine most LW knives are slim due to their construction. I would never tell anybody their personal preference is wrong or a bad choice, because it's personal preference after all and suits their specifics needs.
I've got to think this has to do with the Taichung plant manufacturing schedule. They must be fully committed to other productions streams for the foreseeable future. It may be that the Taichung line that made the Chappy lightweight is committed to making the Sage 5 Lightweight. There are a lot of similarities between the two knives and you might want to hold out for a Sage 5 LWT. It's possible the Sage 5 LWT may end up being what I'd hoped the Para 3 LWT would be.
The Drunken and Paysan probably consume a lot of manufacturing capacity also.
