Spyderco Discontinued Products

I hope the Sage4 and the Tuff are just getting minor cosmetic releases like what happened to the Sage3 and not completly going away.

I want the Tuff but the dimpling don't excite me. I have a Sage4 already but hope it will live on so that others can try it out.

I can't believe they are doing away with the Tuff !!! I love that knife! I need to buy more

I really hope they are just changing the dimple pattern to something better and that the dimple model is being discontinued. I WOULD LOVE MORE VARIATIONS OF THE TUFF.....just saying Sal ;) ;)

Sage4 being discontinued is a surprise but perhaps they're just changing the scales like they did last year with Sage3 Blue G-10 discontinued in favor of the CF/G-10 Laminate.

I'm a bit sad to see the Caly 3.5 on there. Hopefully it's just getting a update.

Any way to find out for sure so.I know if I need to buy a spare?

I am very upset to see Caly3.5 on this list. IMHO this is one of the best EDC knives ever made. I understand that Spyderco has reasons to discontinue like poor sale. I am really regret that such reasons exist.

I agree. And I think the Caly 3.5 must have some sort of magic powers because it is the only knife that I have ever owned with a wire clip that I did not destroy almost instantly.

Kristi mentioned that the LionSpy has also been discontinued for 2015.

There are 2 of Spyderco's sharpening products that have been dropped from the main line up that were just great. One was the Duckfoot diamond sharpening device which is designed similar to the newer Goldenstone. That Duckfoot was a great diamond sharpening tool and like a lot of Spyderco's other discontinued sharpening tools it was just misunderstood.

Also the 701 Profiles being discontinued was also baffling to me too. If most people realized just how great of a sharpening tool the 701 Profiles were capable of then you couldn't even keep them on the shelf. I've said for months that Spyderco desperately needs a comprehensive video covering all of their great sharpening tools.

Definitely was sad to see the caly 3.5 on the list. Hope it comes back in a new version of some sort.

Had long admired the Sage 4, the news of it's being discontinued prompted me to finally buy one, and it's as good as I knew it would be.
If there is a replacement Sage 4 with different scales, I don't think it will be as beautiful as the iron wood and Ti.

I noticed in the November 8, 2013 discontinuation list that the Junior was being discontinued and I didn't see it in the latest catalog. But on the Spyderco website, it looks like it is listed as a regular (ie. not discontinued) item. Does anybody know what is up with the Junior? Is it actually discontinued?

Caly 3.5, Schempp Tuff, Native, and Sage 4 have just moved to the top of my list. Now to decide which will be my first knife of 2015... unless my Schempp Rock comes off back order soon.

the tuff is definitely worth the money. (look on amazon) 3v will hold an edge for incredibly long and will attain a ridiculous edge!
