Spyderco was the company that really got me into the higher end production knives back in the early 90's, thus my handle here! :D I'm sure it had nothing to do with them being a local company... :rolleyes: ;)

Just like Order of KAI, there should be a qualification to be part of the "club". The point system they came up with was a good idea.

LOL!!! The Kershaw Mafia has been around awhile, and now there might be a Spyderco Syndicate. I wonder if that has any connotations and if there would be implications? :D

I agree there should be a point system. Something like:

bare minimum Requirements
Must own at lest 1 spydrco knife.
Have at least 51 post in the spyderco sub forum.
Be a stand up guy.
Have 12 points

score 12 points
1 point for every spyderco knife owned
3 for every collection of of a model (ie own every delica purple,blue,red ect)
1/2 points for every year on bf. ect

Any one want to help with the list?

Theres only so many names Spyderphreak, even Spyderfreak is disageeable because of your name. Spyderco Syndicate is an original idea and it flows well, I dont really see a problem having some correlation to another name. No Spydegang, Spyderclick, Spydercrew, Spyderco syndicate because of Kershaw mafia. We're better off just naming it Spyderco Club then. And if being too similar to another is an issue, copying their points system idea like you suggest would also be questionable. My thing is, a lot of names sound dumb forced and cheesy, but if being original is a concern lets just keep it simple Spyderco Club.
 
Nah, it shouldnt be an elitist group. Whoever wants to be part of the club should be able to do so at will. Only prerquesuite is ya gotta be a stand up dude or dudette and perhaps minimum posts on the Spyderco subforum.

Own one spyderco knife

I think you missed my :p smiley. ;) And I think it would be cool to call it Spyderco Syndicate because of the existance of the Kershaw Mafia!!! :D
