Spyderco for Girlfriend

I'm new here, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this

So I've finally been able to talk my girlfriend into getting a knife, and I'm trying to decide on a Spyderco model for her. She told me she doesn't want a small keychain knife like a ladybug or manbug. She told me she liked the size of the delica blade, and wants something similar.
So the requirements are:
•2-3 inch blade
•Ambidextrous clip(she's a lefty)
•Easy to deploy
•Colorful handle

Feel free to recommend anything else you think would work well for her first knife! Thanks everyone :D

sage 3 blue g10 is an awesome little knife, my girlfriend likes the size of the sage series.

Thanks! I didn't even think to look at the Sage series! Do they still make the Sage 3 in blue? Blue is her favorite color, so that would be perfect. I wish they had a darker blue though.

She may like a Native. It's such a comfortable knife, it's small and doesn't hog up a lot of room, and has plenty of blade for just about anything. They come in pink.

The Delica can be had in blue, I'm pretty sure. Let me look. Yep.

I actually have a blue Delica, which I forgot to mention. She wants a knife that's different, since she can just use my Delica.
She just wants a knife of her own. Definitely a great knife :D

Chaparral in carbon fiber, not colorful but it is carbon fiber, Domino, you can get a colorful aftermarket handle for it. Being a lefty myself, the Spyderco's are lefty friendly in most all models.

I have a blue Delica also.

I bought my wife a black Dragonfly many years ago. She saw my blue Delica and made a comment about wanting a knife other than black so she could find it in the bottom of her purse. So you could buy your GF a Dragonfly, or a Delica in some color other than blue.

I bought my daughter a green Tenacious. I think the Tenacious is a good knife at a reasonable price but it might be a bit large for your GF.

And to your other requirement- Spyderco makes a lot of great knives.

Spyderco really does make a lot of great knives! The Tenacious is a little big for my girlfriend, and she doesn't seem too interested in my Tenacious. The Persistence would be great if I could still find one in blue. I'll look into the dragonfly some more. It looks like a good little knife.

For her first knife I'm looking to get something relatively inexpensive, just because I'm worried she won't use it much. How often does your wife and daughter use their knives?

My girl carries a Dragonfly Tattoo SS. She loves it, Lil smaller than delica but with its choil and excellent ergonomic handle even my 6'5'' self can get a comfy 3+ finger grip. Perfect size for her and after two years use she says it has never let her down.

I bought my ex a pink native for Christmas last year and she really liked it. And it made me decide to get a non pink version someday as well.

My girlfriend became so enamored with my orange dodo that I finally had to give it to her.

The squeak is another idea.

I also recommend the Dragonfly. Great knife with a good amount of handle for a small knife. If you are looking at them I would not suggest the Lava or Dodo, great knives but the handle to blade ratio is a little whacked. The small Ed Schempp folders might be worth looking at. Balance and Equilibrium?

You already said she likes the Delica. Why not, the Delica? I'd get the FFG model, and they come in a variety of colors.

**and I should read all posts before posting myself** See she wants something different. Though, this would be a great opportunity for you to get a new knife, then a Delica would be different than what you have. ;o)

If only I could find a Dodo under $200, or for a decent price! The squeak is a pretty nice looking knife, and I'll have to check it out. What's the blade steel?

It's a little bigger than 3", but what about a Manix 2 LW in blue?

I was thinking about it, but I live in MI, so the knife laws are a little confusing... You can't carry a knife with a blade over three inches with unlawful intent. So I don't want her getting in any trouble because of the longer blade. I carry a PM2, but I don't think she'd be comfortable carrying a knife that big.
