Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2

I love the GB1 and an excited to see the GB2. On the subject of Framelock vs Linerlock, I feel the difference is fairly easy to define:

-In a frame-lock the handle and the lock are one-in-the-same, hence "integral"

-In a liner-lock the locking mechanism is independent of the handle material, or it forms only one competent of a multi-component stacked handle.

The way they work to lock the blade is identical. Arguably, the CRK Mnandi is a liner-lock, similar to the GB1.

fwiw... a tanto blade can fit into this handle.
Gayle, can you design a tanto blade for this folder? Please.

Can't wait to see what the GB2 will be like. Will it still feel rock solid? Will the thinner scales with proud liners be comfortable? I find the price cut the most fascinating aspect of the GB2. Is Spyderco accepting a lower margin or were they able to cut the cost of production? Slightly thinner blade/liners/scales on a new design doesn't seem to equate to a lower price. If the GB1 was one of the best deals in the lineup, then the GB2 could be a monster value at the lower price.

Aside from the Nirvana, the GB-2 is certainly next on my list. The blade shape and dimensions are a huge improvement over the GB1, IMHO. I don't care for the CF'esque scales and will likely get some custom G10.

Will GB2 have steel or titanium liners?

Steel, from what I've read. Pricing also suggests steel, rather than titanium.

Spyderco's latest collaboration with renowned custom knifemaker Gayle Bradley is the Bradley Folder 2. This extremely refined design draws from Bradley's extensive experience as a custom knifemaker and competitive cutting champion, as well as detailed feedback from end users of his knives. It also reflects both his passion and Spyderco's commitment to making even the best designs better through Constant Quality Improvement (C.Q.I.). The Bradley Folder 2 retains all the core qualities that made the first-generation design so popular, including a hollow-ground, high-alloy CPM-M4 tool steel blade, full skeletonized stainless steel liners, a high-strength liner lock mechanism, carbon fiber/G10 laminate scales, and a four-position hourglass clip that allows a full spectrum of carry positions. In the Bradley Folder 2, these advanced features are shaped into a form that is slimmer, lighter, and more ergonomically refined than the original. Its slightly longer handle offers enhanced leverage and control, while the subtle texture and flat profile of the scales provide a secure grip that remains comfortable even during extended use. The thick, flush-finished liner lock ensures superior strength and helps prevent unintentional lock release. Together, these features make the Bradley Folder 2 an incredibly capable everyday carry knife that offers enhanced control, unparalleled cutting performance and extreme edge retention in a pocket-friendly package.

I talked to a gal at KW today, as I (and apparently several others) were having some account access issues. While on the phone I asked if she had any news on the GB2. All she said is that Spyderco was running WAAAAAYYYYY behind, and even the pre-orders for other knives have been very small. Like getting just 6 of a model. I don't think it's just a GB2 issue, but a production issue all around.

Also, does anyone have that picture comparing the Gayle Bradley to the Gayle Bradley 2? I have it on my pc at home, but I'm at work right now. I thought that was pretty nice to be able to see some of the subtle changes in length and design.

Here is comparison side by side GB (203 mm) vs. GB2 (213 mm).
I hope this will help somebody to make a decision...

I think this thread deserves a bump. I think it's coming this year which means it's the final countdown!

I received a preorder status email from KC stating it is not likely that the GB2 will be released in time for Xmas.

Agghhh! I missed out!
That's what i get for going to work today instead of staying home and looking at knives on the interweb :(
Oh well, I take it as a sign others will have it for sale soon.
