Spyderco Spyderco Manix’s , Police, and Gayle Bradley

Well I guess I get to eat my words lol…. Bummer.

It has been years since I purchased a new knife (with the exception since I rejoined Blade Forums this year) and I didn’t even realize there were Spyderco fakes. I’m sure there’s fakes of a lot knives now. Just knew about the fake Microtech OTF’s, not all the others out there.

Was searching for fakes last night and how to tell. I was testing the lock putting some forward pressure checking the play on the blade with just my hand and SNAP. Oops, well I guess buyer beware. I know now at least……

Thanks for the heads up rycen rycen

Pictures deleted to make space for new ones

Aw man, that sucks. I paid $150 for a Benchmade mini griptilian in 20CV with grey/blue scales on eBay a month or two ago, and it took me a day or two to recognize it was a fake. I got all my money back. I messaged the seller with a 25 point list of what was wrong, with pictures backing them up (also posted the pics here in the Benchmade fake thread). The seller was like a thrift shop that didn't just sell knives, and had no idea it was fake.

The next week I got a PM2 for $80 and recognized it as a fake immediately - the black blade wasn't PVD or DLC, but some other coating, and almost had an orange peel like paint. I got my money back on that as well. I didn't even need pics to get the refund, the guy selling it knew it was as fake. EDIT - also he action was slow and tight, and I could not flick it open due to the resistance, and it was listed as brand new unused.

EDIT - my point above was that some sellers genuinely don't know that they are selling a fake knife when it happens, and some do, so you just have to work with the seller to sort things out and it often works out.

I do apologize that’s the case I had no idea. I’ll pm you here shortly .

Hey Devyn, this Fri will be two weeks since I paid you for the Manix and Bradley, with no shipment and very little communication. On Fri I will file a fraud report with PP and BF.
I do apologize I’ve been out of town all week and just got back to civilization. I will be finding the tracking number and checking it as I thoughtYou should of received it by now.

Hi Devyn, the other two purchasers received their knives from you promptly. So when I did not receive a tracking number for two weeks I was rightfully nervous. However, I did receive both knives today. It took 19 days, but certainly better late than never. I have 25 years of collecting Spydercos and I have confidently authenticated both knives. So all is well. Just a recommendation, if you are going to be out of touch while you are selling on BF, note the dates in the forum so everyone may expect your absence (lack of reply) on your items. Well, still happy to receive these knives. Issue resolved. Cheers.
