:grumpy::grumpy:SPYDERCO MANIX2 S110V - rope test & Epic Fail !
Greetings to all !
My friends and I did a few tests of this model of the knife and the result is very poor retention edge.
This can be compared to the results of the CPM-s35vn from Spyderco para 2,just as bad.
Video on Russian, sorry.
But even so, it is clear that they try a good result is achieved, all to no avail.

tipe of steel itself does not mean nothing.heat treatment important and geometry with sharpening.

What knives or steels have you found to be the best in your edge retention testings?

If production models I liked it the M390 and s30v from benchmade or cts-XHP on military and mule from spyderco, and also cpm Cruwear.s35vn on the Socom Elite from Microtech ,for example.
I tested a lot of different knives and various steels, there was even a cpm REX121 from Farid, but that's another story.

there is a problem on the Manix2 s110v with heat treatment.

Saying there is a problem with the heat treat is a heavy accusation. What is your sharpening method and what angle was the edge sharpened to?

This test showed different results and the methodology is very well explained:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1178274-CPM-S110V-Manix-2-Full-Review-and-testing

knives sharpened at different angles - 30 , 40 , 30 with microbevel 36 and 40,with different finish - diamond 9 mic,ceramics and natural stone.
- ineffectually

Do you see a difference between the other testing process and yours that could produce the different results?

propose, who has this knife, and rope 15-18mm,produce test and show the results.
photos and videos preferably.

No, it is not very clear. Can you explain:

1) Testing methodology.
2) Results expected.
3) Results received.
4) Baseline comparison.

tipe of steel itself does not mean nothing.heat treatment important and geometry with sharpening.

This is not the case. Heat treatment and edge geometry are indeed important, but the composition of the steel itself absolutely does matter - in fact, it influences how the heat treatment itself is conducted.

The heat treatmet quality differs from one manufacturer to other. s30v from Paul Bos shows good results at hemprope. The hardness doesn't show a thing. The important moment is the final structure of carbides.

1. 18mm hemprope, knife was sharpened with DMT ALIGNER 45-25-9 microns at 30 degrees. after bad result- microbewel 40 degrees, finish 9 microns. After this- 40 degrees, finish-25 microns
2. expected result- 1500 cuts at least
3. 1st test- 230, 2nd test-230, 3rd test-130 cuts
4. Kershaw injection 3,5 (8cr13mov)- 350. Benchmade torrent (154cm)- 820. SanRenMu 710 (custom blade DI-90)- 720, Buck 347 (s30v)- 800. All these tests are on my channel and cuts markers present. All these were tested at 40 degrees.

There have results are on other videos from these people.
but without the tables show that the knife does not cut, for steel the stated manufacturer
