Spyderco Military 2

There is no hurry. it's a regular in-the-line model. Enjoy your Police 4. It's a special design as well, that has evolved longer than the Military. Carries like a smaller knife, but the blade is all business.

Hey Sal, this is a bit of a detour but can I ask which of your larger sized knives is your favourite? I've got a Native Chief and a few Millies, but I've found the Endura 4 platform is ideal for my preferences.

You do realize you just asked a father to pick his favorite child, don't you?

I know he likes the Police4 and carries one quite a bit.

I can't wait to see some side by side pics of the Military 2 next to other Spydercos.

I think I heard he like the Stretch XL also, a bigger knife kinda guy. Which I'm also finding around a 4 inch blade to be my sweet spot.

I have 2 Military’s with the same materials. I really like them, the steel and the liner lock. The compression lock is a great thing but not enough to prompt a buy, will keep an eye out and see what the future brings for materials.

Same here. I inevitably will own Military 2’s. I’m hoping for a a Sprint Run sooner than later. I’m a big Spyderco fan but not a guy who keeps up with every detail. That being said are Sprint Runs still being done?

The last sprint I can think of was maybe the Rex 45 or Jade M4.

Its really a shame, I think that the clip of the military is fantastic, its placement is ideal for the philosophy behind the design and unlike the generic hourglass spyder-clip, (which is a good clip) the millie clip os designed to match the knife. The irony is that the clip is probably the biggest reason people do not swoon over the military. The liner lock is a clear second.

The change to a 4-way hourglass clip is going to be a game changer for many people and I see the M2 jumping to the top 5 spyderco models. Para 2 and Para 3, Military 2, delica and some other model.

It’ll be a sad day if/when the original Military is no longer in production. Personally I hope it continues long enough that I can stock up on a few more. Military 2 is fine, but im needing the original in a few different steels. It’s my favorite work knife when working on house renovations.

I wonder what the chances are that a Military 2 lightweight will ever be produced, like how the para 3 has a lightweight version?

I think I'm going to buy one. I've casually suggested that Sal add a comp lock to the Military several years ago and feel obligated to follow through by buying one. Granted, I would prefer Cruwear or REX 45, but I'm just so excited for the new addition to the lineup that I don't want to wait too long.

Torn beetwen Spyderco PM2 in Maxamet and same in 15V.What would be the differences beetwen Maxamet and 15V?
Edge retention,hardness,toughness and rust/patina?Thanks.

At this point, it would take something I really want, like copper & 52100 or Titanium & V4E to get me to jump on this model. I'm too busy enjoying the Military models I have and spending time & money on other things.
