Spyderco Military - Best Bang for Buck knife?

IMO the best bang for the buck knife is the Gayle Bradley even though I don't own one anymore. The Military is a close second. I'm not a tip down fan usually, but I think it's best for this knife due to the length of the handle. I've put it in the pocket tip up and it's just not as convenient to get out and use.

Be careful about fakes. A fake Military a friend got from Amazon (didn't know it was fake at the time) tarnished my opinions on the Military for a long time until many glowing reviews led me to buy a genuine one to see for myself. I'm not really a large knife carrier, but there's something I like about having a Military on me and it's what I reach for when there's work to be done.

I think I'll have to bite the bullet and pick one of these up, y'all convinced me. Wish they still made the orange G10.

Some good scales are available....Putnam and Cuscadi do outstanding CNC scales in all types of materials.

I'd really like to do this as well. Where did you get them if you don't mind my asking?

I don't even remember, but it was one of the big online knife supply joints. Important thing is to get all the measurements right and order the correct stuff.

Mine is a model #C36 Military plain edge CPM440V that was a gift from CEO Sal Glesser in January 1999 for being the first to post to the brand new Spyderco subforum here :) I was given a choice of any Spydie and choose the Military. Damn thing is bullet proof!

I have a CRUWEAR just cause I wanted a different color but IMO the Mili is the best knife for the price. Solid, great ergos for the function a knife should perform (cutting) and it is definitely heck of a slicer.
Very light and incredibly easy to carry considering it's size.
It is te cheapest knive I own and indeed I think it is the best bang for the buck
