My first Millie just arrived in the mail today. I have to say that the fit and finish on this knife is amazing. I'm blown away. Blade grinds are near perfect. Lock up is solid. I should post pics but i can't. I don't want everyone staring at it. It would be like posting pics of my wife.

I think this just became my favorite post ever. I'm still waiting for the 2, hopefully tip down becomes an option

I just got into spyderco. I know I know sorry. I have an endura 4 FFG grey frn. Love that one too. I like the tip down carry. I think it works well with such a large folder. I like grabbing the spydie hole and whipping the handle open, if that makes sense.

I totally see that. I normally carry tip up just because I like to grab it out of my pocket in the position I would normally hold it. Saves about 1 sec but that's just my preference. I have looked at the military but can't bring myself to get one yet. Partially because of the size (manix 2 is about as big as I normally go) and also the fact that I want to be able to carry tip up. Also, it would be nice if spyderco used the same clip screw configuration on the millie so you could use other clips.

I have had several over the years. The best edge holders for more were the 1st gen in 440v. I would love to have one of those early blades with one of the current models overall construction.

Dude, I'm right there with you. I just got a PM2 and a UKPK and love them.

That's called the Spyderdrop. Used to be The Way to open a Spydie when they all came in tip-down only.

Now you've just gotta learn the other 13+ ways to open it. ^_^

Took me ages to get a Millie, mainly 'cos of the tip down only thing.
I shouldn't have waited. Now I have 2, the only folder I have multiple of, apart from the Para 2.

I love the Para and I wasn't sure I'd like the Millie. Got one...and it quickly became my favorite production knife. Honeymoon period over...still is.

I'm going to make the CF/Titanium S90V Military my first one and if I'm able to afford 2 I'm going to tap the titanium on the right side for tip up carry. I absolutely hate tip down and that's the only thing that's held me back from buying one before. Now that it's a frame lock with peel ply CF and S90V I just can't resist!

...wut? Tip-up puts the knife in your palm on pull and keeps the blade snugged against the seam of the pocket so it can't open accidentally.

As the clip clears the lip of the pocket, with a slight turn of the wrist the Military lays perfectly in the palm with the thumb directly over the Spydie hole.

Tip up requires adjustment of the knife in your grip. There is no other way to open the knife without sliding it in your hand.

Blade in the seam is just rhetoric. I've never had a knife open in my pocket in over 30 years.

I love the Military. Best work knife for gloved hands I own. The PM2 is a close second.

The Military carries all the blame for two changes in my preferences on knife carry:

First, I don't even look twice at a knife unless it can be converted to tip-down carry.
Second, I don't carry knives in my front pocket anymore. Either tip-down, back pocket, or on the belt in a sheath, also tip down.

Didn't use to think that...but the Military converted me.

Does anybody carry a knife like the Manix2, PM2 or Military just loose in the pocket? Going to look at a Military this weekend during a trip Sevierville.
