Spyderco Military Titanium

Tiguy7 has obviously never dropped a carbon fiber spydie on a hard surface. i dropped my sage on concrete and the stainless steel liner is dented a bit. the carbon fiber is good as new.

I dropped my Superhawk on cement before.
Steel liner dented.
Carbon fiber chipped.
It ain't a magical material.
It looks cool though.:)

spydercos coming out with a fluted ti military for the 2011 year. its basically a regular ti military but has kind of a design and has some colour to it.

Really?? Too much money?? It says $350 on the Spyderco website...I don't mind buying things on ebay but knives I am very particular and usually only buy directly from dealers. What is a reasonable price for a Millie IYO?

That would clearly explain why your wife has issues with you spending so much on knives. Your Google-Fu is weak. You can get a Ti Military for around $230.
Anytime you buy directly from a store like Spyderco.com or Benchmade.com you will pay full MSPR. They sell at that price so they do not disrupt the sales efforts of their retailers.

I'm pretty sure you already know this, but for anyone who doesn't, a small drop of superglue will stick down any loose fibers that result from skids.

Last I heard G-10 is a cold lay up of fiberglass held together with epoxy (plastic) resin. I lump phenolics (micarta), Carbon fiber, mineral reinforced nylon (30% glass fill), and Valox together because of their similar densities and lack of resistance to heat and degradation when dropped on hard surfaces. I don't dislike plastic handles, I just like Ti better.

why not just call it g-10? saying plastic makes one think of something you get at toys r us. if thats what your intent is then your only showing yourself to be a snob

When did you hear that, because that is soooooooooo 2009.

I had a millie for a while. I didn't mind it at all, but I don't like it better than my Gayle Bradley, and out of all my friends that I showed both knives to, the GB won hands down. Of course, they are knife aficionados, not knife authorities. I just don't understand why there's an extra 1/2" of handle that is totally unnecessary. For some reason that really bothers me.

Part of that depends on how large your hands are. A Millie just fits my son's hand with no gloves. He complains that all the other knives are too small.

Yeah. Lack of resistance to heat and degradation. That would be why Boeing is making a composite aircraft. 787.

G10 doesn't have to be room temp cure. Even if it were, it would still be resistant to any heat you will generate in your pocket or even in your car on a summer's day in Phoenix.

There is your best bet. Have dealt with him before, as well as KW. warrior wonders is the best deal.

There is no duty if its made in the USA. just local sales tax plus $8 broker fee, plus $33 shipping.

I would jump on the para 2- its a bit cheaper, smaller and has g10 scales. should be out late december/early Jan., they were just doing a CF run first, and are now working on the Para 2 w/ G10.

No kidding. I was dying some G-10 scales and had it boiling in the dye solution for an hour. No physical damage what-so-ever. G-10 is very stable and tough.
