Spyderco Military vs. Emerson CQC-8

Because I am looking at the cqc-8 with the wave and since I have a millie(a couple), I just wanted a comparison. I have a couple knives that are dedicated SD for me(chinook3, ZT 301, ZT 200) and they all need to be deployed after being taken out. Hence the reason for the wave. Also I just wanted to check out what the hype is all about with the wave knives. So this thread is not a recommendation thread. I am not asking for other recommendations.

Bedlam=no wave=won't work for what I'm looking for.

Can you stop picking on me now?

Ti Military is the way to go.

Thanks. I have one of those. It's a really great knife but IMHO, the millie excels in the G10 platform. I haven't tried the G10/Ti model though.

What homeless guy? You mentioned that before but I guess I am not getting the joke.

The one who got pissed at me because I wouldn't give him(total stranger) a loan over the internet. If you don't know the story and want to know, you can PM me.

We've had a few back and forth posts, so I'm not a total stranger. Can I get a loan?:p

ok im going to play the role of fan boy for a short while.

I love emerson knives. I LOVE THEM!! and theres good reason for this. I own knives from various makers (3 sebbies,, microtech otf, bob dozier, busse and other high end precision knives) however i also own knives that some people consider rougher around the edges, custom strider slcc, dalton customs, and of course emerson. I have literally never had a problem with emersons fit and finish, as a matter of fact i find the claims made about poor fit and finish on emersons to be over stated. While im not saying that no one has ever had a bad experience with emerson knives i dont think that is a reason to discount them off hand. I have had numerous benchmade knives and with the exception of now antique balisongs i have gotten rid of them all, mainly because they broke and always felt rough around the edges to me. I have broke to griptillians and many on this forum rave about the knife and the action. This is proof positive that experience with knives is subjective.
Since you already have a few millies why not go for something different? the emerson 8 is an amazing knife, i think it is probably his most perfect design for both utility and defense. The wave feature is instantly addictive, once you own a knife with the wave you will instantly fall in love. One of the few folders that gives me confidence and a good grip is my cqc-7 along with my emerson snubby and karambit i really dont need any other folders. The thing is that you can give an emerson a try and they hold their value well, if you dont like it you can pretty much recoup your losses abd invest in yet another military, however i feel it is your duty as a cutlery enthusiast to try an emerson in much the same way as i feel every knife nut should try out a sebenza, because you never know until you try.

Thanks for the input, it's really appreciated. Here's what I feel about F&F. Rough finish is not something that I'm very concerned about as long as function is not affected. Of course, very bad finish is another matter entirely. Fit, OTOH, I look upon as affecting performance. Say fit of the pivot, fit on the lockface, etc. IMHO affect performance and longevity of the knife. I am also much concerned about the condition that the knife comes to me because it is impossible for me to ship out knives from where I am, because of some local airport policies. Receiving knives is not a problem. This means that I cannot send back a defective knife or avail of any lifetime warranty.
