If I was butt naked and alone in the wilderness, I think a military is far more practical. I'd have to braid some vines together to make some cordage and either hang the knife from it or I'd have to use a pelt as a pouch. Either way I'm going to be using the knife. And because I'm going to have to use the knife to cut things, it should be a knife that's good at it. And considering braided line or pouch may not be perfectly made, I kind of want the stuff clipped to it to be light, seeing as how I'll be running through whatever kind of plant life is there, swimming, making spears, making feather sticks, etc. If I need to pry a rock out of the ground for whatever reason, I can find a stick and use it. If the stick isn't strong enough then I'll use a bone from some animal that I hopefully trapped, killed, skinned, and ate already. All which probably required a well made cutting tool. I don't know exactly what about the ZT knives make them good for survival type situations but I can think of plenty of things about the military.
