Spyderco Military - Wow what a knife!!

Received my xhp military a few weeks ago,LOVE it. Wasn't the biggest fan of the brown handle at first but it has really grown on me, that and I friggin love XHP!! I've wanted a second blade in it ever since I bought the manix 2 with it.

I just ordered the Brown CTS-XHP yesterday, Hope I am happy with it, Was not cheap.
My first Spyderco was an Endura about 16 years ago, I lost it at a party. Bought a new Endura last year and sold it.

I think you will like it.

XHP is an interesting steel.

I have been carrying a brown XHP millie for a few day and love it. I got it off of the 'bay for a decent price for my birthday and thought it was a good deal while you can still find them. The grind was the best I've seen on any Spyderco yet, very even and just under 30 deg. inclusive which makes for a wicked micro-bevel. Opening was very smooth, but I only have a DLC coated Military to compare it to which is known to be fairly stiff.

I think this is going to be my EDC until the M390 Millie comes out. The brown G10 is very nice and makes the knife look subdued(less scary to 'sheeple') and maybe even fashionable  but it cuts like crazy and I have no doubt that the XHP steel will hold a wicked edge. A few passes on the UF sharpmaker rod got this baby crazy sharp. And it's holding.

My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is the pocket clip. I love the look of the polished clip when the knife is in my hand, but for carry it's just too bright and noticeable. I put a black clip on for fun and while it blends into my clothing better it looked horrible. My solution has been to etch the clip. I have soaked it in ferric chloride for a few hours and then hit it with a wire wheel to take off the dull surface etch. The result looks very similar to a beadblast finish I would say.. it fits the personality of the blade with the brown G10 very well. I'm lovin the two Millies I own! I know that a para 2 is in my near future....
