I've been wanting to try a native for awhile now and have a few questions for you guys. Do all G10 natives have liners and all FRN natives no liners? Has the native with the large swedge been discontinued? S35 or S110? Tell me which is your favorite md native and why. Thanks much for the help.

Lots of info here if you use the search function, but my answers would be yes, yes, and yes (either = great). I just went through a similar search myself and picked the blue FRN.

I specifically went for the lw well due to its lightweight. I just got my native about a week and a half ago. Love it. Its edc's like a delica in the pocket, it just disappears, but the handle is more hand filling.

I've owned an old style pinned FRN Native and the native 5, much prefer the 5. It's a bit thicker, has a more solid feel, and S35VN is one of my favorite steels ever. S110V is amazing stuff but I have a hard time getting the best edge out of it with my edge pro stones, it seems to really prefer the diamond hones in my lansky kit

Currently own G-10, used to own LW. I prefer the full steel liners and G-10 over the latter for its heft and sentimental value. Not to say the LW isn't great, I'm just not an FRN fan. I tend to prefer S35VN over S110V simply due to ease of maintenance.
Either way you slice it, both make the cut ;)!

I only own the FRN but planned to get the black or blurple G10 soon !
Such a good knife !
So far, I really like S35VN !

I've also decided on G10 over FRN, never been a huge fan of FRN and I've never minded a little heft in a knife.

I love all three of mine:

I t seems to me that having heft in a small knife almost defeats the purpose of having a small knife. Having g10 and frn versions of the Native 5, I like them both but feel the lw version is a better package for a small knife. The lw version seems very strong.

I think you're going to be very happy with it. I have a G10 version on its way to me right now. :)

Anyone have large hands that can show a photo of holding one of these without using the finger choil?

The blurple Native will be dead sexy. I'll be all over it.

The 40th Anniversary Native just doesn't float my boat for what it's going to cost.

^^^ This.

Although I've never tried the LW version, I imagine Id prefer the g10 version. I prefer the texture of g10 and I like how stout g10 version feels. That being said, I wouldn't mind trying the LW.
