Spyderco on Tactical knives cover

I think that the H1 is very suitable for the design of the knife. This blade is designed to multitask in environments that are conducive to rust.

Scratching the blade is a problem with most plastic sheaths. It is a series of trade-offs. The plastic sheaths with stand moisture much better than leather. For that very reason some may put blades away without cleaning and drying, some may have to put them away wet. This durability to water might lead to dirt entering the sheath and therefore scratches. As unsightly as this may be, it does not hurt the function or longevity of the knife.

The 10 inch camp knife is a different animal and therefore will need a different steel at a different hardness; 52100 would be my choice...Take Care...Ed

How does H1 compare to the various carbon steels in such a large knife, can it be used for heavy chopping ?

Yes, H-1 is appropriate for chopping and hard use. It is very close to a 300 series SS in toughness...Take Care...Ed

Hi Sal

Does this one get included in the collectors numbered series? I'm collector #118 and will definately want one of these babies.

Thanks
Frank

Hi Swingshot,

Far a larger blade, there are also questions regarding thickness and grinds. I'd rather make the big one out of something like 52100

I think Ed would agree.

sal
 I would agree as well. That sounds like the ticket.

Well damn, now I've got more knives to blow holes in my wallet. jee thanks Sal And ED!:grumpy::D
