Spyderco Onion : my suggestion on a new Spyderco knife

OP - you seem to be on a crazy trip to tell all the Spyderco fans they are wrong....its not gonna end well. Plus you are making the rest of us KAI fans look bad by playing into the aggressive fanboy stereotype. Learn from those of us that have been here a while....read more, post less. Maybe pop a chill pill and be appreciative of the fact that different companies offer different options. Spyderco has a lot of options for a lot of people...if they aren't for you then try making threads about why you enjoy a particular knife to onboard others instead of trying to convince an existing manufacturer bend to your whims. (HINT: They wont) You have already been called out once by Spyderco Mods....why push it?

Also well said. I feel like there are usually two ways to approach something: the positive way and the negative way. If I feel really good about a spyderco, I come to this sub-forum to sing its praises! And I love doing that. Maybe the best course of action would be to sing the Leek's praises in the appropriate forum! Why not take the positive route and feel really good about loving a knife that you love?

Maybe Spyderco can make me a knife that turns into a beer.

Awesome photos, Bear!

I'm more interested to know why Spyderco can't make boats as nice as the Kershaw boats and in the same price range.

Also, if spyderco knives turned into beers I would officially lose my mind.

While I can agree that the leek is a good knife for light work, it just doesn't cut it for the rest. For a similar price I can get a Dragonfly 2 that can do everything the Leek can but better and is much more ergonomic with better materials. Kershaw and Ken Onion make very respectable knives, but they tend to be built from an aesthetics perspective instead of from the edge out like Spyderco. I don't see many Spyderco users being hapoy with a Spyderco version of the Leek. Just my .02¢ but I think you will find many of us feel similar

I like my Nissan Pathfinder. I wish Toyota would build a Pathfinder. Oh, wait...

My only KO design. Not a favorite of mine. It likes sitting in the knife drawer though.haha.

Is MA trollin' again?

I'm starting to actually hate the Leek. [emoji1]

Have you asked if CRKT will build what you are asking Spyderco to build?

Why Spyderco? Honsetly you are coming off as if you love Syderco knives but hate Spyderco with an unholy passion because you can't afford one.

Will you have the same issue when you get old enough to drive? Will you ask Mercedes why they can't build a car as good as a used Kia Rio for the same price as the used Rio?

Ouch that's just too bad and a discontinued knife can't have been that a successful knife.

There have been many versions of the Leek that have been discontinued. For example these two (which I doubt you even knew existed) are highly sought after and were constantly sold out when Kershaw did make them. Sometimes knife manufactures (even Kershaw) discontinue models, even popular ones.

Also, I like my Leeks but for an all around EDC i'd take my Skylines (discontinued models I believe as well) any day, much better performance.
