Spyderco Onion : my suggestion on a new Spyderco knife

I like my Nissan Pathfinder. I wish Toyota would build a Pathfinder. Oh, wait...

Toyota should also build a Spyderco.... in pink. Because if the Toyota's magical pathfinder that turns into a Spyderco, then a boat, then a beer, doesn't come in pink and can't be gold plated by some doofus on Amazon, then frankly, it's probably not a good seller.

Which reminds me, I should go to the cellar and see if any of my bottles of wine or beer have turned into Spydercos yet.

I don't post here much, but I bought my step son a Tenacious, and now I am gonna buy myself one. Spyderco is fine without a Ken Onion collab.

Spyderco name to me, means quality. They earned that reputation. I am sure their marketing dept. can figure out where to go from here.....

The OP should just pony up and buy Spyderco, then make his deal with Ken Onion, then shift all production to SpyderLeeks. Sal and Eric can then start another company that the rest of us will migrate to, and the OP can live out his years surrounded by unsold knives.

The only reason I am mad at Spyderco is because I misplaced or God forbid lost my Sprint Run D2 Para about a year ago, and there is no "Where is my Para App!"

Other than that I got nothin.:p

The wife just told me "you're not buying a boat", after I showed her this. lol

I bet if you fork over the $26,000 asking price for the Sage 17, then you could negotiate in a free knife. Then tell your wife you spent $26,000 on the knife and got a free boat.

There, problem solved.

And the boat will come in handy picking up ladies because you'll probably be single again. :D

There have been many versions of the Leek that have been discontinued. For example these two (which I doubt you even knew existed) are highly sought after and were constantly sold out when Kershaw did make them. Sometimes knife manufactures (even Kershaw) discontinue models, even popular ones.

Also, I like my Leeks but for an all around EDC i'd take my Skylines (discontinued models I believe as well) any day, much better performance.

Those are some awesome Skylines.

Actually the Ex, gets the boat AND the Spyderco. But, there is good news... you could probably afford the Leek after all is said and done.

You never ever discontinues a knife that sells like hotcakes.

The slow sellers though, yes of course.

It's painful reading your responses. You refuse to learn, anything really. It can be stated 15 ways from Sunday, yet you still manage to miss the point, each and every time. Just like clock work. The SpyKer was an awesome knife, but it was one of many knives from many makers that just stopped selling at a certain level so it was discontinued. Just like every other manufacturer that makes products, when they stop selling well, they get pulled. It has less to do with the quality of the knife than the profit being generated and the factory manufacturing schedules. The schedules are used to ensure that multiple items get made, such as the staple items.
Congrats on having yet another thread closed because your inability to want to learn. This will all be over soon, don't worry.
