Spyderco OR Benchmade?!

The edge goes to Spyderco in my opinion. I feel they have more choices in knives, steel and locks and produce a better product for the money. Benchmade has not impressed me in the last decade save for the Axis lock with broken Omega springs notwithstanding. I own many of each and have spent the last few years selling off the BM's. The exceptions being an original AFCK in ATS-34 and a Ritter Grip with custom scales and plenty of blade play to be disappointed with... oh and a clip point Bali with Ti handles, no issues there.

I have personally always been a Benchmade guy, owning several of their different models. The Bedlam 8600 has been my favorite carry knife for a while. The Sypderco hole always just seemed odd and never appealed to me. However, over the weekend I picked up an SS Endura, and I am in love. It fits my hand very well. I love hefty knives and the SS version fits the bill there, and the hole opening method has really grown on me. I will say I played with a FRN endura and the action did not seem as smooth. But after being a Benchmade guy for quite a while, the Endura has been in my pocket non-stop the last couple of days. Its really tough to go wrong with either.

I like Spyderco's cutting edge designs and mechanisms, but like the feel of BM more. I might also say that BM has some really good stuff going on for them *cough* AXIS *cough*.

Whatever makes you happy,
Connor

i prefer spyderco because they are less 'normal'. funk shapes, plenty of colors, different locking mechanisms and they love to put out new blade materials, plus they are always coming up with new designs. there's nothing wrong with benchmade... i've had a couple that i really enjoyed but it seems that spyderco has always been the brand to find its way into my pocket.
