It was someone at Knifeworks and they told me this last week. I initially contacted them about something else, but thought it might be a good idea to check on the status and make sure my CC info was up to date.

I don't know, they are saying if their collectors don't pick up their spoken for knives they will then sell what they have.

Yeah, that is what I meant. Howe's pre-ordered some knives from Knifeworks to re-sell. Since it has been so long, the spoken for collector's knives might become available, and Howe's will sell what is left over, at a premium of course.

I think what is happening is that there are Spyderco Collector Club members who have standing orders (that's what the club amounts to) that include these knives and if the CC members don't buy them Howe's will sell them...but the "pre-order" is the collectors who have CC subscriptions. Some vendors have CC subscriptions in their own name and therefore get sprints and other variations for their own account and for those knives automatically know that they can sell them - but in all cases they'll have CC numbers (which may or may not bother you). Not that any of this matters a lot :D I chimed in only so that people didn't tie up the phone and flood the inbox at KW. :) Goodness knows the KW people have had a week or so from hell. :(

BTW, what sort of pup is in your avatar? Border Collie??? :) Very cute. :thumbup:
 
Not positive, but Border Collie and Lab mix is the best guess. She is crazy smart, best dog I have ever known. My Aunt saw her thrown out of a car going down the interstate and picked her up, and we took her in.
 
Too funny, we have a black Lab and a very cute black/white BC. :D Both scary smart, though the BC has either more smarts or more initiative, or maybe both. :)
 
Yeah not just smarts, we can read each other's minds it seems. Maybe it has something to with 10,000 years of being together, and their blind loyalty towards us.
