Spyderco Paramilitary 3!!!

Really looking forward to the release of the Native 5. It should be a great smallish to mid-sized knife for urban EDC.

I have three Para 2's including the CF version so I'm not opposed to larger knives but I'd like a three inch Para as well. It's not as simple as pick another knife - I really like the design of the Para, especially compression lock and I'd really like one that complies with many local laws.

Personally I think that the Para 2 is too small as it is. Spectacular knife though. Great ergonomics, great steel, great lock etc. And especially for under $100 I don't think you can do better for a light duty/gentleman edc knife.

One way I would improve on the Para is to remove the lanyard tube to afford for different clip placement so the knife would ride deeper in the tip-up configuration.
I don't know how many people actually use a lanyard, I for one don't and would love to see it go because I would love a deeper pocket ride!!

Just my .02 ;)

I love the P2 but if I had my way I would add a little to the handle. I need a just a teeny tiny bit more to fit my hand perfectly. I still edc it all the time but the hump at the back of the handle hits right in the middle of my pinky finger. I get a perfect fit if I choke up and use the choil.

I would NOT buy one if the handle was shorter! The para fits perfectly in my hand, actually not so much, its even a bit small. I in fact cant buy most of spyderco's line due to the size of my hands. LEAVE THE PARA ALONE!!!!!!

Thank you :P

I recall someone did a mod on the old Para1 where he ground that hump down to streamline it. Not a lot of clearance on the P2, but you could probably take a little off.

Original Para nut here, and I far prefer the smaller blade. The Para 2 has never really appealed to me. If I need a larger blade I have no problem using a Millie.

para 2 is perfect.. but just a tad too big to whip out in front of sheeple

I doubt you could find many people that would see me opening my knife and cutting open a package or putting it away. Being discrete is the key to living life the way you want without interference or trouble.Do us all a favor and don't "whip out" anything in front of people, "sheeple" or not.

To me, the Paramillie 2 IS the smaller knife and needs no changing.

I love para as is. I do not need smaller para. There are plenty 3" bladed knives, in addition Native5 is coming.

No one is saying change the para 2.. you missed the point.. a 3rd knife would bridge the gap between millie para2 and then a smaller size for edc in urban environments where anything over 3" is against the law..

I don't think they would sell enough to justify the cost of a new model. I like my Para 2 but also carry a Ladybug on the keychain if I need to use the knife around the sensitive folks.

I believe the Para 2 is great for what it is. It just doesn't fit my EDC needs very well so I don't carry it. Do I want to see a smaller knife with a compression lock? Of course. It would be great if Spyderco re-introduced the Vesuvius or designed a new 3 inch model with a comp lock. Until then, I'll carry my Caly 3. :D

I like how you posted that picture cause that's what I was laughing/thinking about when I posted it. I gave my input just the same as many others here. It wasn't as serious as you seemed to take it, ease up.
