Spyderco Recommendations?

Hey everyone!

My fiancé agreed to let me purchase one more knife before buckling down our budget for the upcoming wedding. I have had A Spyderco Delica in the past, but my Benchmade autos kind of took over my pockets and I gave away my Delica.

I'm looking for a Spyderco to round out my collection, and I've narrowed it down to a Native 5 g10, a Manix g10, or another Delica. I want a knife with steel liners as in my mind, I feel like it'll be stronger...maybe it's a psychological thing, but I'm more comfortable having them

Use: EDC, hiking, first responder/police tasks
Blade: Under 3.5 inches
Budget: 125 USD and under

Please let me know your recommendations and why.

Thank you!

Edit: I should also add that I do not want a riveted knife as I like the option to service my knives.

Manix 2. The lightweight is definitely tough still but has its limits. You can't beat the weight though, especially for hiking.

Of the three mentioned, I prefer the Manix 2 (I have 5 versions), I have 2 natives, but mostly only because they were both forum knives. Had a ZDP-189 Delica, but sold it and replaced it with a couple Enduras. I prefer the, lock, size and ergos of the Manix

I prefer the Delica though the native is nice as well. I don't care for the feel of the manix.
I suggest looking at the stretch, it would make a good perfect hiking edc and is the most comfy spyderco I have ever handled.

The manix 2 is a tank, and the native 5 is very robust and the lock back is phenomenal. But I'd go with the manix 2. But have you considered a paramilitary 2?

I fear for the fine tip of the PM2, and the locations I can find a PM2 within my budget, I fear for fakes. I absolutely cannot budge any more with my budget, otherwise I would consider it despite my fear of breaking the blade.

The S110V Native would be a very good choice... as long as you have diamonds to sharpen. I have the S110V and Carbon Fiber Native and it is a VERY SOLID knife. I will completely agree that the knife feels more substantial with steel liners and IMO it's noticeable in use.

Byrd Cara Cara would be a great knife for you.

I feel that if I buy a Byrd, I'm still going to want a real deal Spyderco to round out my collection, so I figured I'd put the money towards something I really want and will enjoy vs something that will just get me by.

Manix 2 is very comfortable in the hand, and its locking system is very sturdy.

How's the detent on the Manix? I have bad experience with tip up knives opening in my pockets and either cutting my pants or cutting my fingers...

Grand Prairie has them just under your budget with free shipping. http://www.gpknives.com/brands/spyderco-knives-and-tools/spyderco-military-knives.html The Stretch is also available in that price range and is right at 3.5 inches. GP has the ZDP version in stock.

Of the knives you mentioned, the Native is my favorite. I prefer the feel of it over the Delica. I've also handled the Manix 2 and don't care for how wide it is in the closed position.

I could never warm up to my Manix LW. And I was hoping to maybe try some different covers, but didn't realize it was riveted until I received it. So that was kind of out. But, I absolutely love the PM2. Aren't the basic PM2's and Manix close to the same price (street prices)? One I really like with the most "Manix like" blade is the Domino. But it is a bit pricier. You may even find a GB2 in a similar price range of the PM2. Really lovin' the Bradley.

If you end up going the route of Delica/Endura, you may want to try out the Waved versions. At least I have been told that they are a favorite of many first responders.

Here's a bunch for size comparison.

The Native 5 with s35v steel would be a good choice, either with frn or g10. The PM2 is available for your budget. That is still possibly the best all around edc Spyderco makes. And definitely a tremendous bargain.
