Spyderco Recommendations?

You really can't go wrong with either a PM2, Manix 2 G10, or Native 5 G10. The Manix would probably be the toughest of the three. It is also the least expensive of the three. The only potential downside to the Manix G10 is the relative size and weight compared to the other two. If that doesn't bother you, go with the Manix.

Do you mean liners?

Yes it does.

Sorry, yes, liners, haha

I fear for the fine tip of the PM2, and the locations I can find a PM2 within my budget, I fear for fakes. I absolutely cannot budge any more with my budget, otherwise I would consider it despite my fear of breaking the blade.

I feel the tip on my Delica is much more fragile than the tip on my pm2. But to each his own! Well you definitely can't go wrong with the manix 2, I typically carry that as my work knife and I use my native 5 as a slightly heavy duty edc. I really like the lock on the manix 2. The action is so smooth and the lock up is solid. The native 5, you can't exactly flick it open because it is a lock back, but it's still fantastic.

I feel that if I buy a Byrd, I'm still going to want a real deal Spyderco to round out my collection, so I figured I'd put the money towards something I really want and will enjoy vs something that will just get me by.

Ignore the name, Spyderco designed it. See attached video. If you have to positively have to own a "Spyderco" I suggest the Gayle Bradley. See attached video.

I EDC a Manix 2 lightweight. I love it at less than 3oz. Large enough to take care of most business needs and I still don't notice the weight.

I'm not a huge Spyderco fan myself, but if I was in your shoes, with your budget, I'd spring maxing the Budget on a carbon fiber Sage with s30v...

The Dark Blue Manix 2 or Native 5 in s110v would my 2nd and 3rd choices.

Congrats on the wedding, and a pretty good woman I might add, letting you feed your other love...

Manix 2 also gets my vote.....if you don't have enough for the Para 2 which I like better

However, nothing wrong at all with the manix:

Manix all day long, IF the Para 2 is out of the question!
I have 5 Manix 2s and I reach for this one more than the others.
Best build and liners are milled out.

Yep! As soon as they were legal, she asked where I could get one and how long it'd take to get there. She isn't into anything knife related, or anything remotely dangerous for that matter. She just knows what makes me happy :)

She does have a sister! Sister is completely different though, she'd probably advocate to make autos illegal again :/

I've owned a few Spydercos.

After I got my waved Endura about 10 years ago, I either sold or gave away the others.

As much as I love the Native5, out of your list and OP I gotta go Manix2 all the way. It is an incredible value and a truly great tool. The Sage1 is also a great recommendation if you want something smaller and more discrete, and I carry it more frequently than the Native.

I couldn't agree more abba!! The Manix is one of the rare models I have more than 1 of......6 at last count!!
Excellent action, tough as nails....LW or G10.....very strong lock and fits the hand beautifully!!
All that for a great price!!
Hard to not like it!!
