Spyderco Rescue 93mm passaround - SIGNUP

Enjoy the knife, guys. I have several Rescues, and they are one of my most-carried weekday knives. I think you will find that it supplements other knives very well. That straight, serrated edge really does the job on materials like hard plastic that will challenge a plain edge knife. Glad to see this model in a passaround, so that other folks can try it.

For those interested, the USPS says via priority tracking the Rescue is waiting to be picked up at the PO since the 17th now.

I'm in contact with Ben L. and he's going to double check with the PO on his end.

I've gotten burned on PO boxes a couple of times as they seem to introduce delays. No more PO boxes in passarounds that I do, even those with a previous good track record. Sorry.

I realized these things happen, and they are no ones fault, but I'm getting a little tired of them and having to track down people over and over and over.

Update - still not picked up, the PO is supposed to return items after 10 days if not picked up. It's been over 10, so if I don't get it back today in the mail, or it doesn't get picked up today, I'll file a PO complaint and try and get it returned.

Update - Post office claims they don't have it, tracking says it's at the PO and waiting to be delivered.

I filed a complaint and they are supposed to return it to me. (I guess they have to find it first too) They are supposed to call me back tomorrow.

Patience is a virtue after all (trying to be patient :p ).

Dave hope this one turns up quickly. I do hate it when something in the mail is me conflicting reports :grumpy:

The rescue 93mm is on its way to Pahl. He has been emailed with the tracking number. Dave thanks for the chance to check out this knife.

I'm looking forward to receiving it.

Will see if I can take some photo's of it to post with my new (Mavica FD100) camera :)

Greymoor,
Thanks for the update.

DaveH,
Thanks for the passaround

I got the Spyderco Rescue today.

Very nice and very sharp!

Blue, my favorite color :)

I will play around with it this weekend. Take some photo's of it next to my some of my other spydies and mail of to the next in line Monday morning.

Thanks!

My first thought about the knife when I took it out of the box was that is was smaller then I thought it would be.

I read the specs on the knife before I got it and I knew the size of the blade and length of the knife. I just thought it would be bigger for some reason.

It fits my hand well. I really like the shape of the handle. The texture of the handle makes it easy to get a good grip.

The balance point of the knife is just behind the pivot joint of the blade towards the handle side.

With the tip of the blade the way it is there is more weight on the tip of the blade then there is on any other spyderco I have ever had.

The extra weight on the tip of the blade make it very easy to flick open.

This is the sharpest knife I have ever had!
Greymoor did a super job of touching up the blade.

The blade is still very sharp so I'm going to leave it alone.
As I don't think I could do it any good trying to touch it up.

I would like to have one of these knives to keep on my car.
I could see were they would be a must have knife for some one that does any kind of rescue work.

KnifeDude,
I will ship it out to you Monday morning. I will email you and Dave the delivery confirmation number Monday night.

Thanks Dave and Sal!

I tried to post the photo I took of it here, but I could not seem to get it to work.

The knife came in today. I will play with it over the weekend and send it out on Monday. Thanks for the passaround. This is a great idea.

I sent the knife out today. I have sent Metaxasm and DaveH the delivery confirmation #.

This is a nice knife. I didn't use it to cut anything. Just carried it over the weekend. I only have two complaints with the knife. I wish there was a little bit of an edge break on the opening hole. Aslo I think the back of the blade could have used a little more finishing. Other than that it is a decent knife. Smooth operation and solid lock up. Nice and sharp.

Thanks for the passaround and your efforts in it DaveH and Spyderco.

Don

Nice knife, I love the dark blue FRN handle with the polished clip. Can we get an Endura in this color combo? I did not use the knife other that to open up a few packages. Very successful! I will probably pick one of these up when they come out with the glass breaker to keep in the car.

It's in the mail to Sid out in AZ.

Thanks DaveH and everyone that is participating.

Mark.
