Hi iMarcoU,
Apologies for your disappointment. Your experience with the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker is certainly well outside the norm. We would definitely like to take a look at the Tri-Angle Sharpmakers that you received. I understand that you have decided to return them to your retailer. We hope they'll in-turn return them to our Distributor there and they'll make their way back to us here.
As to your experience with our Warranty & Repair department; it's true our standard is that we must receive an item to review it and make a judgment. There is no "repair" for the stones so if we had received the stones here we likely would have just replaced them with a pair hand-picked by our crew. We understand the challenge of shipping internationally, but unfortunately due to the high volume of counterfeits that we've seen/received we just can't make a judgment based on pictures. We truly wish we could - it would make everything a lot easier for everyone but with abundant counterfeits we would experience a serious financial hardship. Many counterfeits look just like legitimate Spyderco products - particularly in images. It's not until we handle them that we can determine they are in fact counterfeit products.
The counterfeit market (and yes, it is a market - we've become aware of consumers who strongly support counterfeiters) has far reaching consequences that most people don't see.
If you haven't already shipped your Tri-Angle Sharpmaker back to your retailer we would appreciate the opportunity to review it here. Regardless though, we do apologize for your inconvenience and frustration.

Good luck with the new DMT stones and stay safe out on the boat.
is there not away of removing these pimple's of the rods!maybe using a DMT diamond stone, and just make the rods flat again,i have never had any problem with my sharpmaker or i'm just lucky like the other 90% of the people i have read about using this system!really this is the first post that is negative one that i have come to read, sorry to hear all this and don't blame you for going to another system at this point!i mean three times.
Hi ImarcoU,
Sorry for your disappointment. We've not experienced this much in the 38 years we've been making the Sharpmaker. We have an agent in the Netherlands. I can ask Jurphass to contact you? I would not recommend that you use your diamond stone on the ceramic. It will screw up both the ceramic and the diamond.
