Spyderco Slysz Bowie Question

I was unsure of the blue when ordering, but am very happy with it in person. It’s more of a navy than most of the photos I’ve seen online. This is about as accurate as I could get.

I noticed this with the blurple s110v knives - in the photos they are royal blue, but in person almost black.

So finally this SB showed up today in the Exchange? $200-$250 mark up is actually not too bad compared to the ebay $1,000 price tag plus shipping ;).

One just sold for $500 on the Exchange which seemed like a "bargain" when compared to what others are asking and paying for them but even that was "too much" for the knife IMO.

If everyone just refuses to pay what the flippers are asking, the prices "should" drop. However, the fact that some flippers are getting the ridiculous prices they are asking just feeds the beast and encourages others to persist in this kind of behavior.

Mine, (PM2), looks deep purple...nothing black about it.

Start using it just at home? I keep a couple of my nicest folders on the bedside table for cutting fruit and such.
No risk of losing or damaging it.

“I tell you what. Similar price or cheaper:”

I have owned several of those knives. You are correct, they are fantastic. This still doesn’t mean the Bowie isn’t also or worth as much. Therefore I agree with “what is not to like”. I can see it coming down to personal preference with the nice knives in the photograph, but nothing to suggest the Bowie isn’t worth spyderco’s price. As much as I like the AD-20, it is still $425 for G-10 and Teflon washers.

Don’t disagree with either of you, except my AD-20 heaving bearings and being $370 or so. Just saying that for me it’s not worth it .... now, if it would be a Cruwear CQI’ed Military with fluted Ti, I wouldn’t say this. :) Personal choice, obviously.

It's on bearings, for what it's worth. I enjoy my many Spydercos, three Hinderers, and the one Demko I have at the moment.

The Demko shark lock has to be experienced to be appreciated, imho.

That said, I'm sure the Slysz Bowie is a fine knife...just not my personal taste (and not at that price point).

Dang! What's not to like?

It's BLUE! At least that's why I don't like it. LOL! ;)

If I could get one for $400, I'd take it apart and dip the frame in HCl to strip the anno and then it would look ok to me but, even then, I'm sure someone would still be able to come up with something else "not to like" about it.

For me it is the looking. I know this is highly subjective but the handle shape looks ugly to me.
