Spydiechef vs GB2 vs Advocate

I just picked up an Advocate from BHQ (the later improved version). I don't think it's a great flipper, even with the improved action. It doesn't fire open, more like glides open, and even then it takes a fair amount of pressure on the tab. Hopefully it will loosen up/smooth out. Very well constructed nonetheless.

I also have the GB2, and must says it's pretty impressive. Just feels like you're really holding a quality piece. I haven't used either blade yet so I can't comment on their performance, but I doubt you could go wrong EDC'ing either one.

3. Chief

I don't own any but I love the design of the GB2.

I'm also not a fan of Ti handled knives. The handle shape seems odd on the Spydiechief but I've admittedly never handled one. I like the design of the Advocate over the Chief and the steel which is why it got 2nd for me.

Spydiechef FTW!

The GB2 doesn’t work great in my hand, but it certainly is a well built knife!

The Advocate has some very nice details but somehow it didn’t really impress me when I had it in hand. Nevertheless, with them on disco right now there has been a small temptation to give it a second try (I won’t unless I find one at a stupid discount).

There isn’t a thing I dislike about the Spydiechef. It’s easily in the top 5 knives I’ve ever owned. It’s slicey and the way blade is presented makes it terriffic for food prep and fine for other EDC stuff. It’s also terriffic not worrying about corrosion or ginking up a bearing pocket.
