Spyderco SS Police or Military, which would you prefer for EDC

If g10 police is so great and popular (at least on this forum), why spyderco discontinued it?
 
The general buying public equates to a lot more of Spyderco's sales than forum buyers.

Its likely that interest from the former wasn't high enough to warrant Spyderco producing this model any longer.
 
I would prefer my SS Police for EDC because of its slim profile and the easiness at which it slides in and out of my pocket but I prefer the S30V blade on the Military over the VG-10 on the Police. I like the handles on the Police much better and it feels more comfortable in my hand and pocket but the blade is just so ugly. It would be really nice if Spyderco would make a knife with a handle like the SS Police and use the same lock and then have the Military S30V blade and have the same slim profile of SS Police. I would be very happy if that day ever came.... oh yea plus the option of tip up carry would be great which neither the Police or Military knife offer :D !
 
I've got one of my favorite Spydies in my pocket right now. It's a Tufram coated aluminum Police knife. The Military is also one of my favorites. The Police knife is absolutely the largest blade Spyderco has ever put in a slim easy to carry folder. The Military is much grippier with a bigger handle and .... is normally easier / quicker to deploy out of the box.

I'm not sure who said this above ..., but you've got to get both ... :D

Isn't that funny...to me it is the prettiest & coolest blade style that Spyderco has ever designed. :) Isn't it interesting how differently we all see the various models.

You could always keep an eye out for an all black Police model. I have one, and the coating seems to add a little traction to the handle. That, and it just looks too darn cool.

thanks for your opinions, I finally bought a SS Police SE. Saw it in Training Day and I must say, that it's a damn cool knife. Very comfortable while clipped IWB. I've put a scratch-finish on the scales with a wire brush, now it looks much better than the originial satin finish :cool: .
 
No doubt in my mind. A combo edge VG-10 Police model. If you would be lucky enough to get one in Carbon Fiber that would be paramount. However, I just got my combo edge stainless handled VG-10 the other day and I am toying with the idea of making it my EDC. I have been making a combo edge Renegade my EDC for the last year and I think it is about to be de-throned. The blade geometry on the Police is to me much more practical for work applications. Don't get me wrong because I also have the Military but I think the Police is just a tad more versatile. :)
