The numbered Spydercos are Collectors' Club knives. Every knife Spyderco makes they first send one to all the members of the Collectors' Club (they each have a number) right before they hit dealers. They are rarer in the sense that they are numbered, but they are not special editions. I personally would not want to buy a CC blade because I don't like the number being on there if its not my number.Thank you all for your valuable input.
Personally I've been carrying extra large phones in my pockets and used to carrying XL things in my pockets.... This knife is close to the Samsung Note 9 phone size in length (closed) and at the border limit what I can carry and find still practical for myself... Maybe 4'5 would have been a perfect size, but I don't mind having this beauty at 5 inches...
The seller noted this is a rare limited numbered model. I do not know anything about this statement or numbered models. Anyone can shed some light on this? What's the 014 next to Spyderco? 14th out of 1000 production run? Or...?

Wow thank you! I did not know there were numbered Collectors' Club knives. I actually do like #14, so lucky there..![]()

This is my updated collection. I think I've got pretty cool pieces, thank you all for your expert opinion and recommendations! Always best suggestions here!
My new Spyderco Tatanka does win the "Longest, Meanest & Badass" category, however I still respect and love all my Microtech, Benchmade, ZT, Kershaw, Hogue products...
Nearly all knives 4 inches long blade, my preferred blade length for my hands. Love the M390, CPM S110V and CPM S20V, S30Vs...
I agree. That is a beautiful design, Chip! I believe Spyderco would sell a lot of those.
Addicted_to_Knives, I think the Tatanka is a great knife. Cold Steel has cornered the market, but I wish that Spyderco (as well as other companies) would make more large folders, too. There used to be lots of options from multiple brands, but, sadly, those days appear to have passed. Maybe the trend will return eventually.
If you find that carrying a large folder grows on you, these models tend to be pretty pocketable:
Gerber Applegate Combat Folder
Cold Steel Frenzy
Cold Steel Counter Point XL
Cold Steel Recon 1 XL (while you can still find them)
The Cold Steel Large Espada, Ti-Lite VI in G-10, and Rajah II are also fun to own, but not exactly pocket-friendly.

I agree that it's a very cool collection, especially since I also own 7 out of the 10 knives shown and plan to buy at least 1 of the other 3.![]()
