Spyderco Tenacious Problem

Just spoke to a lady at Spyderco, and she said the screw is a #8 Torx.

Just a service I provide, no need to thank me.

I wonder if that was the same lady at Syderco who told me it was a Hex.

I'm fairly certain that Torx is Mandarin for Hex. And I should know since my girlfriend's cousin's stepbrother laid bricks one summer with some dude who's in a band with a Jewish guy.

Well, OK, why didn't you say so? That would have cleared it up right away. By the way, how many pancakes DOES it take to shingle a doghouse?

I'll believe it when I see pics. :p :D

I believe mine to be completely Hex as well. So this comment caught my eye as I was trying to find out if its 1.5mm or something else as the smallest hex I have found is 2mm and too large thus far (for the clip screws).

My ability to take good pics is more limited than my camera, neither is all that good to be honest. But this is what I came up with spur of the moment.

I realize this thread is quite old, but they appear to be hex to my eyes. Unless someone chooses to argue that the pic shows Torx screws, this may help with a few ppl's sanity even a year later. The 2mm fits like a glove in the pivot (center screw) as does a T8 (almost too snug) but the clip needs to be moved and T6 (brand new not stripped) doesn't even get very snug before it slips in those 3 screws T7 way too large.

T6 feels slightly snugger in the body screws but too loose to turn them as well resulting in the entire knife being hex unless I'm much mistaken.

My real concern is going out and finding a 1.5mm and it fiting the body screws but slipping in the clip screws which are what need to be moved.

Mini-update, found an old craftsman 1.5mm allen and moved my clip. Pretty much sums it up afaik.

Hi GTP2K1,

Great pic. I must say that I am impressed with your "tenacity" on responding to an 18 month old thread. :D

Welcome to the Spyderco forum.
