I had 2 one for work one for play. When I realized the work one’s lock was worn out. Goggle led me here. It’s the reason I joined here to warn others that 110 locks can wear out.Has it been the same 110 throughout those years? I've recently taken a shine to that knife and would love to see photos!
Anyway, relevant to the thread: The combo edge Endura 4 is the best all-around work knife on the market!
Yup. Sodbuster, Opinels, SAKs too. I can think of dozens of alternatives before I get to Spy and BM.
Because I have two hands.Even ignoring such factors as weight and steel, why would you ever choose a work knife you can’t open one handed? If I was going to use a knife multiple times a day, you’re darn sure I’d pick something I could operate one handed (and ideally with gloves on).
Because I have two hands.
So you’ve never been holding something and had to put it down to open your knife, when you could instead just open one handed and do the job? I’m skeptical
A bigger Spyderco?I think the variable here is the definition of working man. If, like me you sit on your ass staring at a monitor pecking a keyboard all day then sure a Spyderco is fine. But if you require work attire that involves say, a hard hat, work boots and some sort of power and/or hand tools I’d think you might prefer something a little more heavy duty.
On contray - most knife guys I know keep their spydies in a safe...

I love those regrinds on the left!I mod and use the crap out of my spydies. If I can’t use a knife at work as an electrician then I always end up getting rid of it. I’ve tried so many different brands but Spyderco ends up being superior for my uses View attachment 2114140
Thanks they are the most useful blades out of all of themI love those regrinds on the left!
Do you still have the Ronin 2 for sale?I thought many of my nicest, custom Spydies would be safe queens, no. Gotta bring em out!
I have one BM, the 3V Pukko and pretty much already belongs to my fiance but, I like it. Spydie folders are plenty tough.
The Advocate, Police 4 serr, Native Chief, Native 5, Dragonfly Wharnie K390 and Matriarch 2 are some of my most carried.
