Spyderco Vallotton on its way, any thoughts?

A knife that has both a hole and thumb studs reminds me of a man wearing a belt with suspenders...
 
It's a fantastic knife. I keep in in my EDC rotation despite it's bulkiness. If you don't like it, I'll take it! ;)

Well the thumbstuds actually help secure the action upon opening. Nothing wrong with that.

As to the knife itself, its my favorite spyderco. Reminds of a nicely made 1911. Great fit finish, big and heavy. It just has an intangible felt quality to it that is undeniable. Sure there are lighter more sleek bigger bladed knives that are lighter and easier to carry, but unless its just a tool to you, this knife will be all you want of it.
 
First Spydie? Congrats!!! Great knife, one is in my pocket right now. It's a weekend carry for me. A little too large to bring to the office during the week though. The fit & finish is amazing.
 
Still on its way... Weather must have slowed its travel time ugh... :) anyone have any pics of there's in the field or being put to work to hold me over...lol
 
so I got my VALLOTTON!! AWESOME COUNTERFEIT! BUMMER... After I receive a refund I will share details :( what are ya gonna do... Screws are off grind was off and found a match on ALIEXPRESS for 25ish bucks.... For 25 bucks maybe but I paid more obviously ouch... hanging out on the bay
 
You're better off buying from a reputable online knife distributor, otherwise you're throwing money away.
 
yep I am hoping I can get a refund. I should be able to, paid with paypal, and for what its worth, ebay states if matter is not handled in 3 days they have a money back guarantee so... I dunno fingers are crossed. Thanks for the link after I get my refund I am going to pay the $ and buy a real one. Hey if this is worst of my worries I am doing ok in life.
 
Now that I was refunded I would be more than happy to share with anyone the ebayer selling counterfeit spyderco's. He selling 2 types both are the types offered from aliexpress. The vallotton and spyderco military folding knife. Only vallotton with best offer option. He knows they are fake now at least because I told him they were. He said he was very sorry had no idea etc...
 
I'm expecting a Rock Lobster from there today. I wondered if it was wise to buy a Spyderco from the Bay (my first).
Considered that the RL was not a likely candidate for making knock offs and that the seller has a stellar reputation.
I hope I am not proven stupid :eek:. I never considered that an "innocent seller" might be selling fakes unknowingly.

BTW - love the Valloton and the Chokwe too. Never handled the Valloton though, just admiring from afar.
 
I've looked at these for sometime now and never pulled the trigger! But I'm getting closer now thanks to this post!
