Spyderco Worker Sprint Run Green G10

Blade hq's price is tempting. Trying to resist. spent a little to much on knives in the last fee months. Think i drank too much of the spydie kool aid :D We shall see.

Yeah....this will be the last purchase of knives for year 2014; four Spyderco's (not counting the 5 that were XMAS gifts) in one month is a tad sick, dontcha' think?

May be but I got 8 Spydercos in the past 3 months: Slysz Bowie, K2, Battlestation, Rubicon, Chubby, Dog Tag Black, Lil LionSpy and Worker!

Well then you would be a Baker Act in Florida.:p

I guess we both would be. :D

I'd been waiting on the five Taichung folders and they all showed up in quick succession: Slysz Bowie, K2, Rubicon, Chubby, Dog Tag Black.

The two Japanese ones I was just waiting on the prices to drop to 50%+ off MSRP: Battlestation and Worker.

Well, I'm certifiable now...just had to order that Dog Tag in black. What am I thinking?

Recieved by blade HQ worker, very very happy I decided to pick this one up. It's very small but to me in a good way. Carries like nothing in the pocket and the blade shape is a one point lesson in beautiful functionality.

Makes me want to pick up a second as a backup. The handle fits my tiny hands very well with no hot spots. The fit and finish on mine is on par with anything from Taiwan.

Something about using one of the knives that started it all really resonates with me.

The lines are so smooth and sleek, initially I wanted jimping on the thumb ramp but after use: I think it's about perfect as it comes.

I got my Worker Sprint as well. Cute little knife that's well made with a very sharp tip. Very happy with it at that price. Prtsonally, many of these Japanese made Spydercos only become worth it at 50%+ off MSRP and in the case of the BladeHQ price it was 52% off MSRP. Can't go wrong there.

Finally got one at a great price of $133.99 shipped from BladeHQ.

Thanks for that. The first initial prices were a big turn off.
I haven't gotten a new knife in a long time & I just love this blade shape.Just pulled the trigger on this.

Well, I never got the chance to get the 1st edition but I did just recently buy this next version. It is a truly beautiful little knife!!!
BUT - I sent it back in 2 days unused except for opening and closing. I just couldn't make that work. It was for me a 2 hand opener unless or until I developed the appropriate callouss on the tip of my thumb. I did adjust the pivot screws just a bit to see if that would make a difference but no success. I tightened the screw back up and sent it back. I didn't want it for a safe queen.

Still - I really believe that it is a great looking knife and fit my hand (other than for opening) perfectly. Just me. Oh well…
Is this a fluke, or did other people have this problem? I am interested in the Worker, but not if it is a two-handed opener with a big hole in the blade. I own and like two handed opening knives, but would prefer a nail nick on them.

I have no problems opening mine with one hand, even with one of my XXL size hands. I can easily open with the pad of my thumb or the thumb tip/nail.

(that said, I have a LNIB one in the Marketplace trading section if you want one on the cheap)

I can not help myself, but the Worker keeps calling my name. My previous little utility EDC was super blue Dragonfly (I love it, but lost it and now wait for the HEP40 version)

If by any chance some of you guys could post a photo of a Worker next to a Dragonfly (and/or Delica) I would be very grateful.

Bought the stainless version in the mid 80s... Took it to camp Pendleton and it traveled some places with me and served me well. I think I paid 45$? for it and it took me quite some time to reach that figure. First knife I had with a clip. Thanks Sal

I too would like to hear from others. Did I get a particularly tight blade? I do woodworking for a living and my hands are medium sized at best and pretty limber still I did not have the flexibility to palm The WORKER and flick open the blade (with my thumb) as I can with the Dragonfly or the 75mm Persian - though I admit that these lock backs don't open all that easily for me either. Maybe a longer thumb would give enough more throw to make opening these small knives easier and safer. The Delica is the smallest I can open easily and casually (without needing to pay attention).

I got one in today that I picked up on the exchange and I can flick it open. I took off the Spyderco pocket clip and put on a Les George Ti clip that has a much flatter profile.

I like this little knife a lot more than I expected, I never handled one of the originals and wasn't too sure if I would like it but I do. Here are some pictures.

I wound up getting one, and I am very pleased with it. The knife blade is sharp, fit and finish are excellent, and the blade is perfectly centered. I am a fan of smaller pocket knives, and the Worker fits the bill very nicely. There are times when it is too large or small, and I have options for those circumstances.
