Spyderman

He ripped off the chef? Now I have a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm guessing he does not live in Northern Illinois and has an occasional desire to eat out. As they say in England "Poor form, old boy..." geegee

hey folks...
i'm not sure what the story is here but...

INTHEWEBB@AOL.COM

I dealt with this guy. Here's the story.
First, i placed a bid.

Then i tried emailing him, to see what i could buy from him at the same time, to save on shipping costs.

I did'nt hear anything, so i quit bidding.
I lost the auction.
It was a 4 item auction, but 5-6 ppl bid higher by about $20-$30 a piece.

I got an email saying i could buy the knife anyway for my highest bid.
Heh, so it looks like some folks got hosed.

I sent paypal.. ONLY because, it was the 1st of that knife i ever saw, and since, it's still the only one i've ever seen. I took my chances.

It arrived very quickly, and in satisfactory condition. No probs with the knife at all.

Conclusion,
The guy is a moron. I determined that quickly after a few emails back and forth after the initial auction. He's a total no-mind. But i did get my knife... And, i was charged alot more than what my bid was... the high shipping, +3% paypal, all that crap.

But, the knife was worth it, and i did get it.
I would hesitate to deal with him again, but i would do so.
Unless, i find out that what's going on here is a straight rip-off?

more info please, either here, or kindly email me.

this is odd. Spyderman sells Microtech, MOD, Beltrame, Camillus, etc...
pretty much knives you could'nt pass off clones for. He has no "cheap knockoff" knives either... cheapest is a Hibben Claw.

Could you post a picture of this knife in question?
Or possibly link me to the auction you won?

Hi mc. Looks like your guy's still in business.LINK
That might be a good thing seeing as how he hasn't "flown the coop".
He does have alot of positive feedback(280+). This is puzzling...

Masterchef. I hope that you don't think I was questioning your word on this matter because that just isn't the case at all. Your reputation/feedback speak for themselves as to your integrity. I was just trying to make some sense out of this whole thing after I saw this guy's feedback. I always figured the feedback represented the person. I always use it myself to judge a perfect stranger's business ethics before doing business with that person, because I have no other method(s) at my disposal.
Your deal with this person is clearly an anomally. I don't understand why he would jeopardize his reputation for a $120 bad deal after 280+ good ones but, up to now at least, that seems to be what he is doing. Clearly it would be an understatement to say it's in this guy's best interest to resolve this matter to your satisfaction and somehow I hope that's what will happen.
Sorry if there was any misunderstanding. Please keep us posted.
