Spydie stickers

Sal,

How about some stickers with the Spyderco Spyder symbol on them, à la Oakley? I'm convinced that those Oakley stickers of the late 80's, early 90's were the best advertising Oakley could get, and the consumer paid for it! Target surf shops, as they always sell an abundance of stickers to all age groups. The consumer that buys the stickers usually doesn't care what the sticker represents, as long as it looks like and represents something "cool". Nothing's cooler than Spyderco knives. What better way to spread the joy of Spyderco to the uneducated (cutlery-wise) masses? Just an idea.

Thanks,
Chris

BTW, I forgot to mention that some of the surf shops on the Outer Banks of NC carry really crapy knock-offs of Spydercos and other manufacturers and sell them at highly inflated prices (Bert's Surf Shop, for one). Why not get the real deal in there? I'm sure a surfer wouldn't mind having a high quality matter separator on them when their leash gets hung.

Thanks,
Chris

I can send you some stickers and stuff.....write me an email and send your address. Begging and compliments get better stuff..... laff

I have one of the navy blue and gold Spyder stickers but I don't have any "stuff". I'm going to have to be real nice to Danelle it sounds like. BTW Danelle, you have become somewhat of a celebrity around here! I hope that you get a hoot out of it. Maybe you should write a book for women entitled "How To Get Men That Love Knives To Eat Out Of The Palm Of Your Hand".

Chris - The margins on the crappy knock offs are very good. buy a dozen for $3 each, sell them for $20. One of the reasons they are such a problem for manufacfturers is the dealers are enticed to sell them becuase of the high profit margins. Also at $20, imitating a $50 knife, it is an "easy sell".

Danelle -- could you also send us forumites who beg and compliment some stickers and stuff?

I'm on my kness as I type this

Somebody was trying to sell a "Replica" Ladybug on ebay for $3. That's about $2.75 too much IMO. It's one of those with the plastic thumb stud. Some of the guys at the shows around KY were selling knockoffs with the square hole in the blade-how original.

Might be good for .22 targets!

There's a place for cheap knives in the world but knockoffs insult me. I apprciate Sal's comments on another thread regarding his respect for Chris Reeve's designs. "R-E-S-P-E-C-T, find out what it means to me...." OK time for me to go to bed I would say.

Never mind about the stickers. I didn't realize they already existed. Dexter showed me his Spydie sticker on the back of his car-looks great! Sal, I think that is a definite endorsement for your products. I didn't see any Benchmade stickers! I paid Danelle many compliments and begged like a starving chihuahua

Thanks,
Chris

Danelle,

I recant my last post, as you have complete control over my future dealings with Spyderco. I guess I shouldn't bite the hand that feeds me (knives).

Thanks,
Chris

In light of CPR's last statement and the sig file of some forumite somewhere, I am reminded of the following Monty Python line:

'Strange women, laying in ponds and distributing swords is no rational basis for a system of government.'

Well, its not swords, but knives, and I'm not sure how damp she is, but this pretty much extinguishes Danelle's bid for Mayor of Golden, I presume.

Hey, what do these spyderco stickers look like, anyway?

Hey! Uncle Sam!

(_!_) Nyah nyah nyah!

Refund! You lose! :)

If I remember correctly, Dexter's was round. It had a blue backround with "Spyderco" surrounding the Spyder. There may have been some other text, but my memory is as short as my tolerance for the current US administration. It is very tastefully done. I'll let you know more if and when (please, please, please, please Danelle) I get my sticker.

Later,
Chris

All requests are in the mail....!

I expect to see posts when ya get em. But DONT say what you got...laff
