OK. First off, I love my Spydercos.
Second...I love my Spydercos.

But...There are some Spydercos that I love and hate.

What about you guys?

What do you love and hate about the same knife?

Here are a few of mine:
The Meercat. Very cool knife. Neat little size, feels great in the hand.
I know it is kind of "gimmicky" but if it had better scale material, it would be AWESOME. The lock, blade shape, even the wire clip-it...then comes the handle:(

The Native (current version)
S30V, Almost an ICON of spyderco....Great knife...BUT...Why no pivot screw?? (and the Spydie hole is partially obscured)

And I have to throw this one out there:
I am a Smoker, I drink bottled "beverages", and I'm a Knife Knut.
Firebyrd....It makes sense!
The function is what is to be expected. I Love the clip. But No lock??
I know it isn't meant to be a serious offering, But it is COOL!! just lacking a little form.

So tell me what you think....What Spydercos do you love....and hate?

New "S": I love the looks of the Salsa, and the skeletonization is cool (how much does it weaken it anyways?), but I can't stand the looks of wire clips... that's the only reason I haven't gotten one.

Spin is also a knife I love the looks of, but I'm not fully appreciating the blade... if it just came to a real point (I'd also like the acid etched version more... I probably will get that one, as it will have real grip on the handle)!

Stretch II: I love every freaking thing about it. From the indent on the back lock, to the shape of the blade, the size of it, the looks, the material, and the functionality (tip up, yay!). I really cannot wait for it!

I really like the Ocelot for it's overall shape, but couldn't handle the paws as they were just begging to get dirty and stay that way.

I'm a very big fan of my Caly Jr. Great blade shape and grind, great steel, nicely textured and comfortable scales, but I really wish it were drilled for a tip-up carry option.

Send to STR....Presto Chango....tip up!

My single favorite Spyderco is:
Delica 4
Salt 1
Dragon Fly
Native
Para Mili
Mini Manix
Volpe
Endura 3

Oh you get my point

Love hate is how I describe the Paramilitary.

No other knife gets me as emotional as the Para. It has the capacity to be the near perfect knife if it was just tweaked a it. The blade is perfect, that is what I love most about the knife. The handle is not very ergonomic even though it trys hard to be. I hate compression locks. Just shorten and simplify the bumps and grooves of the handle and offer it in a liner lock ala the Military. It should also be tip up/tip down left and right to make everyone happy.

Just change a few things and it would carry this knife more than any other.

Aghhh Coop!!!!!
Now, what are the little things that you DON'T like......About those knives (Is it possible to dislike something about th D4???)

I do get your point though!!!

I love the Military, one of the best folders out there, great cutter. Easy to carry for it's size too.
I love the Slasa, and have a Ti framelock one. The only think I hate about it is the fact that the compression lock seems "left handed" to me.
I hate the Gunting :o I know it' was designed for a purpose, but I just hate the looks of it.

I love the police....but hate how slippery the handle can be with wet hands.

I love the para-military .....but hate that its only rt hand tip down carry.

I love the do do.....but hate that the ball lock is so much smaller to manipulate than my d'allera.

I love the new wave models....but hate when you try to pull the knife out of your pocket when seated (or other position than standing) and the blade partially deploys.

Kopa - love the looks - hate the divot left when the clip is removed. Not crazy about the Boye dent on it or any other front lock either.

I have a love/hate relationship with my serrated SS ATR. I bought the SE version because I had to try it at least once. Now I know I don’t like a serrated edge.

Love the SS Native...hate that you can't get it with a plain edge.

Love low rise clips...don't hate the wire clips, just don't like them as much.

Love the ball bearing lock...hate that it isn't on more models. I understand why and look forward to seeing more of it as it proves itself out!

Love the fact that Sal listens to our feedback...hate it for the other manufacturers that just don't get it the way he does!!

I love my green pals, my Lil temps, and hate that I didn't pick-up a few more.
Of all my holy knives, the "dent" is not my favorite feature either.

Love that the manix can do whatever it pleases

Hate that I can't find a reason to carry my civilian, I feel bad dulling it or putting it to any utilitarian use... Although it was a gift from my grandfather, tuffram and all. Actually I love the knife - forget above.

I guess the only complaint I have is with the byrd series... I now feel dumb spending much more than 30 dollars on a knife, when I know I could just pick up another pretty byrd. Way to ruin knife collecting mr. Glesser...

:D

The Lava-

Love: The design, size, looks, ergonomics.
Hate: The weight. This thing is a boat anchor.
