Squirrel ... it's what's for dinner!

What scope mounts are you using on that Marlin? I have a 925RM that I want to mount a scope on. Thanks.

Out in the county by my mom's place there are tons of jack rabbits. Wonder how they are for eating in the spring and fall?

Heber

Don't think I would hunt them in the spring, they have little ones, but if your looking to thin them out that would be the time to shoot them.

Jack rabbits are tasty but tough as hell, I bone them out and then grind the meat for chili or spaghetti. I just use the back legs and loins and leave the rest for the yotes. Friend of mine killed one and tried to BBQ it he said it was like trying to eat an old hat. :D Chris

Cool. How would you say it tasted next to rabbit?

Man, if I had a bb gun It'd be squirrel seasong in my backyard...they get in the trash, drive my already crazy boxer even more crazier...

You'd need more than a BB gun. BBs probably wouldn't ensure a clean kill. Go with a .22 caliber pellet rifle. RWS, Gamo, Crosman, & Benjamin make good models.

Ashamed to admit this but for sure BB's won't do it. I filled one with BB's as he was running and trying to hide on a tree. Actually saw the BB's going into him as I was shooting him. Sun at my back and the glaring of the BB through the scope on a Crossman 760. I did this as a kid and it didn't kill him. At least not soon.
