New KO brand knife has come.
Titanium framelock and D2, seems like one heck of a deal.

I'm not obsessed with full Titanium handles and flippers, so I might go with this one instead of the flipper myself.

Can you provide a link to this one? I've been googling to no avail.

I'm planning on getting one of those non flipper KO knives relatively soon, will post how it is when possible.
Very excited on this one, Ti framelock and D2, if those materials listed are really on it, this blows away pretty much anything
that domestic brands have in value right now.

Thanks for testing it out! Please do let us know.

Personally I was thinking: 45$ for no brand D2? I guess there're some brands having same steel at same or lower price.

Kabar Dozier D2 is about 60$, BM HD 13150 is 62$ by this thread:www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1014611-Benchmade-Harley-Davidson-13150

No name brand at 25-30$ makes more sense, especially betting on the unknown heat treat.

I think the main selling point of that KO folder is its titanium frame-lock design. Which ti frame-lock folder can you buy for $45 with international shipping included?...

I might have seen it wrong, but the Ti version is 70$ something.

Edit to add: Ti + G10 is 45$, full Ti is 75$. Has anyone deciphered why the same knife is listed with two different prices?

The more expensive knife has plain black G10, the cheaper one has green turtle shell pattern G10.

Some ugly truth about these "D2 + Titanium" knives from China:

The D2 used in the KO brand and the Strider/Hinderer/Reeve clones is most likely Cr12Mo1V1. Depending on the heat treat, it's probably only slightly better than 440C.
Unless there's a steel insert on the lock face, the titanium will wear pretty fast.

However, for the price, it's not bad.

How did you come across this information?
I'm not doubting you, that name sounds like a Chinese formulation steel, but I've been looking at the clones and KO and haven't found anything listed except SVC10, 440C, and D2 for the steels.

First of all, if you google "Cr12Mo1V1", you will find that "D2" is another name for it. The sites will list the blade steel as "D2", and they won't be lying. However, no one really knows for sure the heat treat, grain size, carbide distribution, etc.

Second of all, I own a Strider clone. I am speaking from experience about the lock face wear (easy, but crude fix). As for the blade steel, it retains the edge just fine, nothing to write home about. However, I once tried to modify the blade with a file, and I had trouble getting the file to bite, so I guess the hardness is...up there.

[REMOVED]
There's also this knife, it apparently has 12C27 steel, and according to the 5 stores I've asked, including one apparently being the somewhat infamous Kevin John, Titanium liners that appear to be pretty thick.
