pretty common, Tudor's Dibo is considered by most folks to be the foundation of the modern APBT and he was undershot....yet its a flaw in the conformation ring??

Wrong.
You CAN use if to defend yourself against lethal force...and as cases have shown, dogs count as such (if it isn't a 10 pound, overgrown mouse variety, that is).

You just aren't carrying it for defensive purposes.

Which is fine, as if I had to wait to defend myself from deadly danger before I ever got to use my knife, I'd be so damned bored. :D
 
I'd still rather use pepper spray than a knife though.
Keeps me further from nasty, pointy teeth, and involves less gross, emotionally disturbing ickiness.
 
I like pits n knives but pits will be pits and knives will be knives. I think the lady was right .

In a word:Racism

Its strange that on a forum full of enthusiasts who should darn well know that there are many "feel good" laws passed with massively flawed or no logic, there are still people who would wish those same laws and policies on others even though we all should know they do not address problems.

I'm an animal person and most pet owners mean well but there are very few owners who actually have any idea what they are doing training wise. Of course those same people reproduce, but I'm sure that murders are all the knives/guns/cars fault, not parenting.

An interesting story, looks like the LEOs handled it nicely.
 
Yes , he's one of a handful of ab shutzhund dogs here in the uk ,great temperament and very stable he's at 50kg but I'd never take any dog for granted iv seen a few bullies go but a pit will savage ,deed not breed is all good n well but it's 90% the retards sorry owners fault for sure .
 
Dogs, much like people, can be downright weird.
My wife's sisters each had a pitbull, both from the same litter.
The one dog was energetic, playful, barked a lot but wasn't bitey or unstable.

The other one though, damn! One time I was there and it was licking my hand.
The next time it bit my foot...but I had steel toed boots on, so it got a really odd look on it's face due to its bite not doing more. I was going to punch it in the face till the sister came and put it in the cage though. I don't care if you're human or an animal; don't friggin bite me!
That rule is non-negotiable.
 
I assure you I'm not one of the retard owners. pits temperament is very calm and happy and is always in the home or back yard
 
ok, for all the dog arguments, a dog is an animal. I have a strong bond with my dog, she just bit me in the face (unintentional, she was in pain with one of her joints and she reacted, after she looked at me and was like crud I did that). A dog is unable to discern other than what they have learned. Any dog is able to inflict harm, same as any person.

HTMD, with that experience who wouldn't blame someone to be weary of pits in the future. Seriously, we guage our reactions with our history. It's like asking the victim of gun violence to be ok with everyone having guns, you can't win that argument, there is to much history to not go into a counseling session. Pits are one of the sweetest breeds, but they get a bad rap due to their ignorant, immature, alpha male wanabees, and uneducated owners.

That said, I have a German Shorthair Pointer, she bit me, my Brother In Law has a lab, it bit him. I watch my kids when we are home, or away, and if any dog runs up I immediately put myself between them.

I'm glad the Mother did what was needed, I also think the fine needs to be increased about 10 times.
 
Racism? Bigotry? For real?
MY pit-lineage hasn't bitten anyone (yet) and is SO SWEET-therefore, anybody who thinks pit-lineage are dangerous are racist/bigoted becaue they discern a prevalent characteristic in pit-lineage...riiiight.
