Stag Saturday - Let's See Some Traditional Stag!

Hard time choosing which one to carry today...hard to kick the Ryu out of the pocket but the Zscherny is so nice !

Great Stag on those!
You were not alone in having a hard time choosing what to show for Stagurday..

It had to be the two I have used the most during the week + the one I'm working on.
The fixed small Crown works well for light duties in the kitchen and the thin GEC 78 is great in the pocket.
The one in the works is in 12c27 stainless from a Mora Bushcraft Orange + one of my recently bought Red Deer Crowns.

You have a nice variety in that group. Don’t think I saw many like the center one.
I suppose there are more, but I haven't seen them. To quote Forrest Gump: "I like it a lot!" I've been looking for a 86 like it, but no luck.

Is that European Red Stag?

Hej! No, Père David deer is a breed prevalent in Britain I believe, originally from China it became extinct there but the exported animals were able to supply some herds to be re-introduced back to China in the late c20th. The antler varies a lot some is smooth, takes a good polish but a few bits are grooved as on the Lambfoot knife.

Interesting, there's a lot to learn about deerspecies and how to use the antlers!
