Stag Saturday - Let's See Some Traditional Stag!

- ah, thank you.......I have no knowledge of your forum knives as I'm newish to this particular part of the forum.

Like the look of that a great deal - was there a thread so I can see who, what, how etc......?

Welcome to Traditionals, glad to have you here. Its a fun place to hang out, and you will see lots of beautiful knives.

Here are some threads with some info on how the knife came to be.

- thank you, sir.........most kind to fetch those links :)

Have to say, I'm totally impressed.

If I've read correctly, they're by GEC with some stag from John Lloyd.

Yep, clean crisp and uncluttered - particularly keeping the blade free of writing/names and a neat mark on the ricasso - top marks

Just for clarification. There were two offerings by GEC and two offerings by Canal Street Cutlery. John Lloyd graciously donated all the stag. There was also a CSC knife that was made as a spin off of the forum knife. It was a "Eric's Jack" and was made in 440c with John Lloyd stag in the pattern that CSC submitted for the forum knife.

- many thanks for putting me right, Gary.

Apologies, I did not read all the posts/links given so missed the whole story.

Great result though, you guys who have, must all be real chuffed.

I know it's not Saturday anywhere...but due to Photobucket's lax time keeping I was unable to put this up, but I'll venture it now :D

Another Forum 14 Knife together with its diminutive Schatt comrade, quite a decent blade length on the tiddler though:thumbup:

The seller has been collecting for years and is a good friend. He will hold knives for me until I save enough money to buy them. The knives are the blue scroll set from Case with the correct storage case. While cleaning them I discovered that I got two 5287's jacks and no 5234 pen knife. Hopefully, he has it and I can complete the set.

Kevin

Thanks for the follow-up, Kevin! :) What a stag bonanza! Hope you get your completed set soon!

Inbound. My first knife with stag covers, and my first Northfield.

Congrats on the impressive double firsts, Bigbluefish! What a magnificent way to start out!

Will, that's a powerfully pleasing pair you posted! Those 2014 Forum knives are very nice, but you seem to have exceptionally fine stag on yours!

A beauty!! I'm awaiting delivery of my first stag, and my first Northfield - a #77 Yankee Jack. Maybe it will arrive for next Stag Saturday! [emoji39][emoji106]🏻

Duncan It's a credible knife despite its tiny dimensions, thanks for your observations.

GT appreciate that too:cool::cool:

Thanks, Will

Nice knives and nice Stag on both WILL.
I have been on the bubble for a little over a year now for the Tiny Barlow in either S&M or Tuna Valley. Good to hear that it is pretty good except for the sharpness.

Thanks, I was kind of taken by it by surprise. Should show up for next Saturday. But...

Arrrggghhh. I just realized it's my second Northfield. I feel like a dope. In my defense, the #77 Barlow has pretty toned-down finishing for a Northfield, looking almost like a Tidioute (which is why I couldn't pass it up).

Here is the little Tuna Valley tadpole in burnt stag. I love this little knife!
