I consider elk to be stag, but I'm not an expert in matters of stag, so FWIW

In my book, yes Elk is Stag and so is also Red Deer.

Thanks Mikael, I thought Elk horn could be considered stag but I wanted a second opinion. I respect your ideas on the matter and feel comfortable posting Elk horn in this thread.

Working in the deep woods today With a 2² True Temper Flint Edge Kelly Works Cruiser I had rehung about four years ago. I felled a dangerously leaning balsam then bucked it to carryable lengths. Thought I was going to have a heart attack - felling and bucking is a young man’s game and will quickly reveal any weakness in your cardio condition !!!

Carrying in my pocket today a budding knife by Bruce Bump but, alas, it stayed in the pocket all day except for this picture.

Always wanted a Buck Sambar Stag handled fixed blade knife. But, these days, they are out of my price range. So, I decided to get the next best thing. I got a Buck Elk Stag fixed blade knife. The more bark, the better. I think I got a pretty good one. Not Sambar, but still nice.
