It was very interesting to learn about Schrade’s Herman Williams waynorth waynorth . His amber stag looks gorgeous and natural. A lot of the new stuff seems a bit artificial. Something else for me to be on the look out for. Charlie’s edumacation is much appreciated but has also cost me a lot of money!

GEC can still put out some nice stag. I lucked out with this 83. It has just the look I favor. It is a bit thicker than I like, but even that works well ergonomically on this small knife.

You did more than luck out Greg. As close to custom stag as you can get.
 
Q: 'Red Stag'
is that a special natural stag or is it just dyed stag?
There is such a thing, but most of what we see is dyed!!
Case did quite a few Red Stag knives after WWII!
