Stag Saturday - Let's See Some Traditional Stag!

We need some stag for Saturday .... GEC #60 Fixed Blade from 2008

I've been carrying it quite a bit Harry. It's so nice, it's tough not to use it! It's my first knife in 440V (CPM-s60v) and I really like it.

Here's the old Marshall-Wells from the 60's again.Polished smooth from years of pocket carry.

I was too occupied with garden work this Saturday, to post any pic's and here's the story of why.

There's a large Maple tree in the garden, that needed trimming down the height of the top.
The top had grown 14 feet since the last time I cut it down 8 years ago.

The main tool for this was a Fiskars garden cutter, but for large branches I also used the 7" Bark River Custom Bowie #A.
These BR's were released early this year and quickly sold-out.
4 of them had Stag handles and I managed to get one.

The A model is saberground and has a 1/4" spinethickness, weight is just short of 14oz.
This means it will work as a compact allaround heavy-duty tool.
There are also B and C versions, but they are slimmer than the A and I want mass in this type of knife.
Around 14oz is enough for reasonable chopping comfort and still a packable size at 7" bladelenght.

I used it not only on thicker branches, but also for cleaning all branches from leaves with the intent to cut up the branches into firewood.
There were hundreds of branches in this treetop and it took a whole working day to complete the work.
The 7" was in constant use and showed excellent properties.
The A2 toolsteel held up perfectly and only needed stropping on leather, to get back to full sharpness.
The Staghandle felt smooth to the hand in all positions and didn't create any hotspots or blisters.

Needless to say, but I'm both impressed and pleased with this one!

Regards
Mikael

Well, at least this time I'm posting on a Saturday - in your time. But it's Sunday here already:

Here's the Forum 14 Knife on the day of its arrival in November (early or even late Oct?) I feel very lucky with the example I have and enjoy using it frequently. This and the 15 are the most used by a long chalk, the others not much.
